How to find the old threads and where to find the thread number of the current posting?

I tried thro the "search" function and could not get the correct info.. Can someone tell me the method of finding the Thread No.and old postings thread details..

Your friendly local moderator here. To get the thread number of a thread, you have to click on the thread.

In other words, looking at the forum page, I see a number of topics listed right now

Earthing voltage
Ge frame 9E combustion chamber failure
Calculating %age droop setting
Control Valve for Sand Erosion Issue

and so on.

If I click <b>Calculating %age droop setting</b>, it takes me to the page where all the posts are displayed. If you look at the top of the page, the URL lists the thread number of the first post. In this case http://www.control.com/thread/1026248312.
