Does anyone out there offer (or know of) a test/repair option for an obsolete Woodward 4024 Actuator Model 8256-060. Woodward said they do not have the ability to do this.

This actuator is obsolete and is part of a larger paralleled genset application (for fuel control). It would be more cost effective, at this point, to get the suspect actuator tested and repaired rather than replacing all governor actuators and controllers.

Have you checked the resistance of the actuator? It is a very low resistance typically 1-2 ohms. If it is open, then it is like trying to repair the coil on a motor. Not very feasible to repair. Woodward manufactures other all-electric actuators. The ProAct Integrated Speed Control includes a speed control built into the actuator. You can contact me if you want at [email protected] to discuss.
