Mark V, C-cores stays at A6
See attached. Also, does this unit have a <CD> core? If so, Panel Revision List isn't returning a TCDA card for <C>. Edit; Swapping a DCC out of <D> into <C> doesn't make it a <C> core. You have to use the LCC pinpad to change its VOTER ID and STAGELINK ID. Voter ID is the core designation and...

GE MARK V Voter mismatch, <R> FPRG_INT
DGY, Being new to the Mk V, there are high speed data collection tools that you may be unaware of. The VIEW tools can capture data at a rate of up to 32 points per second. I recently had a 7FA getting thrown out of load control due to a single bad P2 Ametek transmitter and the only indication...

How to add control constant in Mark V
GEH 5980 attached. <I> instructions for constants is 4.8. In addition to the above. Newer HMIs don't use ALARM.DAT or ALARM.LST, but I like to maintain them anyway for continuity. Newer HMIs alarm handlers get their alarm text from LONGNAME.DAT, so add your signal and alarm text there. New HMIs...

Procedure to change and download control constants in Mark V GE control system
Changing constants is one job, as detailed in the Mk V Maint Manual. Maintaining and equalizing your constants is another. Again know that the Mk V runs in real time from RAM and you can change constants only in RAM with the Constants Adjust tool. RAM is volatile memory, meaning if you power...

Procedure to change and download control constants in Mark V GE control system
Attached is GEH-5980. Section 4-8.1 "Modifying a Control Constant". The manual is based on <IDOS> interface. Its a little different with <HMI> based interface. I'll give an example with <HMI> as I've gotten all <IDOS> out of my fleet years ago. Know that the Mk V runs in real time out of RAM...

GE Mark V <R> reaches A7 although it displays at reset IO CFG failed
This IGV issue is often referred to as "hunting". Do a search for "IGV Hunting" and there are some good posts here. Usually hunting is a mechanical issue rather than a Mk issue. Does the hydraulic system have an accumulator? Is the accumulator properly pressurized to accept variations in...

Why VFD drives use INT or DINT as speed reference instead of real variables?
The anticipated range of value for something like speed % is a relatively small number in binary. If that were put into a float (32 bit) there would be a whole lot of binary space never used. Speed expected would range 0-100 (maybe with some overspeed +100 by some amount). In binary the top of...

GE Mark V <R> reaches A7 although it displays at reset IO CFG failed
I learned something. Sure you can misalign the pins on something like the 3PL cable, but how do you reverse a JDT? Yes pin 1 is red, but doesn't the ribbon connector have a little bump top center and isn't the ribbon socket keyed with that little indent at the top center? I've seen guys install...

The read only 3000n array are referred to as Input Registers whereas the 4000n read/write are referred to as Holding Registers. I'm no pymodbus guy, but I imagine there is a read_input_registers function that would direct that code at 3000n instead of 4000n. That being said, your code are...

Modbus Communication Address For Hydrovar HVL 4.022 VFD
In the Modbus manual pay attention to the datum type column. U defines unsigned integers, S defines signed integer, 16 are 16 bit, 32 are 32 bit, etc. In your second picture the Modbus Protocol Selections shows an option for Daniel/Enron, this is 32 bit. Standard is 16 bit. In the manual address...

I've never tried csp.ttf for Word. I do know I can use linedraw in Notepad and Wordpad (Wordpad recognizes linedraw whereas Word doesn't). Form Wordpad I copy dierctly to Word. Do a little font size adjustments, change colors of the pertinent parts of a big block, etc and now I've got CSP in...

WTF, the font for viewing the CSP is MS Linedraw (saw you were having computer issues). I tried attaching but the forum won't allow .TTF file extensions, sorry. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/font-list/ms-linedraw

Whereas the TCDA explicitly calls out IONET termination resistors.

GE Mark V <R> reaches A7 although it displays at reset IO CFG failed
I just had a chance to review the berg jumper settings for the TCQC. It only appears that the <BOI> daisy chain in <T> (JBU) applies terminal resistance with jumpers, <R> and <S> are out in TMR. I see no references to to CARC, VARC, or DENET being set with jumpers.

I don't have time to look up the jumper appendix of GEH-5980 right now, but just floating an idea. Does DENET have berg jumpers to apply terminal resistance in the same manner IONET does? In IONET terms, if the unit did not have a <QD2> and terminal resistance was not applied to a TCDA in <QD1>...

Edit to previous; The <T> core and its associated <P> and <QD1> may be operating just fine but the problem lies within the DENET VARC cable? In a previous post there was an alarm indicating that may be the problem. It is hard to tell without more information.
