Problem being faced in measurement of level of a tank under vacuum
This 2009/2010 thread is statistically statistically, maybe 1 in 200(?), because the original poster. - maintained a dialogue throughout - answered questions asked of him - posted the resolution of the problem (on the 30th post) Most control.com threads that are not turbine generator...

Orifice Turndown
Emerson claims a 0.5% accuracy at 14:1 turndown http://euedocs.emersonprocess.co.uk/groups/public/documents/markcom/500754.pdf and I suspect the other majors are pretty close, if not equivalent (paper is 10 years old). I have seen most people doing this with DP go to some flow element...

Like any analog situation, it could be anything under the sun. On any given day, I think I've seen it all and someone manages to do it wrong in yet a different fashion. Since my crystal ball is foggy, I'll just list a few of the things that I find in these circumstances Wiring issue...

Temperature Controller
Overshoot is an expectation of On-Off control; it's normal. The On-Off control setpoint is typically in the 'middle' of an adjustable 'hysteresis' band plus whatever over/undershoot the process dynamics support, as shown on this graph for a widely used single loop controller...

Modbus 32 Bit Floating Point.
I haven't used it, but people tell me that Red Lion's Data Station Plus http://www.redlion.net/data-acquisition/data-station-plus can act as Modbus master and slave simultaneously. I've been told that it can read floating point from a Modbus slave, reformat the data and then remap the...

Ethernet to RS485 Convertor
Anam39, is the RJ45 connector an Ethernet port? That's all true IF the RJ45 is Ethernet. He said his controller had an RJ45, he didn't say "Ethernet". Lots of industrial devices uses an RJ45 connector for whatever physical layer they want, RJ45 is not necessarily an Ethernet port.

Analog Input 1771-IFE
No, it does not mean that you can't use a 24V power supply for 2 wire transmitters. Yes, you can use a 24V power supply. That statement means that a 10V full scale signal from 0-10Vdc output on a 4 wire device that has +6Vdc common mode between the module common and the signal common will...

AAI143-H DCS Analog Input Module Ground Loop Suspect
Check out this thread that involved ground loop issues with a Yokogawa DCS and its AAI143 analog input card: http://control.com/thread/1410929813#1410929813 According to Mr. Fawzy's research "AAI143 last number is 3 so the card is common isolated 'the channels have multiplexer and share...

Sensor Wiring to a SIEMENS 6es7134-6gf00-0aa1
Gabriele Corrieri's wiring categories are correct; so are the descriptions of the wiring for the active position feedback signal from the electric actuator. The AC power to the actuator powers the DC power supply inside the actuator that powers any of the actuator's internal logic and its...

Analog Input Card with Analog Output with HART Protocol
Your analog input card will read the 4-20mA value as well as the transmitter 'makes' it and in conjunction with the analog input card's calibrated state. The HART signal would only be useable with a HART communicator.

Sensor Wiring to a SIEMENS 6es7134-6gf00-0aa1
You don't say whether your field device is 2 wire loop powered, or 4 wire that has separate power terminal connections. Since you refer to 1 and 9, I'll assume it is a 2 wire loop powered device, because those are the terminals used on the 2 wire diagram on page 11. On that same diagram on...

ABB WaterMaster
I looked at the ABB site, and there isn't anything beyond what you provided for error codes. You can always go to ABB and ask because they're really the best source of information on specific error codes for their own products. I'll speculate that the F247 fault code, 'installation or...

Wago Passive Isolator with Active AI
Thank you for providing the correct wiring solution for a 2 wire loop powered passive field transmitter on the input side of a Wago passive isolator. It's likely someone will find this in the future and use that information to their benefit. How gracious of you to extend an invitation to...

The wiring: P/S (+) > xmtr (+) xmtr (-) > Wago #1 IN+ Wago #2 (GND 1) > P/S (-) Wago #5 > Siemens (+) Wago #6 > Siemens ground/common You need to put a current milliamp meter in series in the Wago output and see if the Wago is providing an output. Test your meter first on a known...

Honeywell ST3000 Pressure Transmiter Fault
1) Did you check the code in model part number on the stainless ID label to confirm that the transmitter is HART and not DE? HART does not communicate with a DE transmitter. Honeywell HART transmitters were shipped from the factory with Blue colored screw covers, but the tan/brown/beige...
