Upgrading from Mark-4
Officially, the "e" in Mark VIe stands for "enhanced." The differences between Mark VI and Mark VIe are more than the Ethernet communications with the I/O cards. When used for BOP control, the controllers are available in dual redundant configuration as well as TMR. Remote I/O is also...

Upgrading from Mark-4
I suggest you contact GE. They would probably recommend upgrading to Mark VI. I am not sure they even do Mark V upgrades any more. There should not be any turbine changes required to upgrade the control, at least outside of some possible instrumentation changes - but I think most, if not all...

Calculation process of FSNL of Mark-4
You use the term "disconnect from the grid." If you mean that the 52G generator breaker is still closed and the disconnect is from a line breaker, the Mark 4 may not treat this as a FSNL condition. When 52G trips, the normal setting for speed control is 100.3%. If 52G remains closed, unless...

Turbine Speed Variation in droop mode
When you operate two generators in parallel, with one in droop and one in isochronous mode, the droop machine will load up to maximum load and the isochronous machine will take all the load swings. That explains why the 70R and 70L relays are operating continuously on the isochronous machine...

Difference between Instrumentation and Control Cable
The difference between control and instrumentation cable is mainly in use. Either can be solid or stranded. Back in the "good old days" control cables (for motors) needed to have larger wire than instrumentation cables in order to handle the larger currents required for the motor starters. They...

GE MK IV BOP control system upgarad
You don't say what the existing control system is, other than a MK IV common BOP system. If it is a GE system, the only MK IV system I know of that fits your description is what GE called DATATRONIC. I worked on those systems. I don't recall any site with specifically 3 9E GT units, but there...

Speedtronics partial load
By definition, Base Load is full load. Anything less (preselected load, manual setting) is partial load. If you have Peak load capability, that would be a higher load than base, but that takes life out of the turbine.
