MARK VI HMI
Are you using a UPD (USB Protective Device--a "dongle") in the new HMI? Newer versions of TCI require a dongle. Trying to "build" or "re-build" an HMI like this is very difficult. The better option is to create a VM (Virtual Machine) and run it using the VM software of your choice (such as...

I/O Communications Loss and Then Loss of Ready to Start
lightson, Have you used the LCC display/keypad to troubleshoot which card in <R> is dropping out of A7? All cards associated with a processor (and remember--all cards associated with a processor are NOT in that processor; <R>, <S> & <T> have cards in <P> and <QDn>; <C> has a card in <CD>)...

Mark V <R> Freeze on A4_93% - DCC Error
Hasan Abduillah, Hmmm.... So, a EEPROM Download was done. And, somehow, <R> lost it's Voter ID. That's not normal. You need to use the procedure in the Mark V Maintenance Manual, GEH-5980, to set the Voter ID on <R>, then re-boot <R> (using the switch in the <PD> core for <R>). If <R> does...

Mark V HMI Disk Failure
You should be able to power-down the HMI, remove the failed hard drive (it should be labeled as "0"), obtain a new hard drive, install the new hard drive and then re-start the HMI. The RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives) should automatically copy the necessary information from drive "1"...

Mark IV C Controller Freeze
Glad to hear the ground problem was resolved. 63TK-1 is mounted on or near 88TK-1, which is OUTSIDE of any compartment (turbine compartment; accessory compartment; load compartment). Interference? You mean electrical noise? Electrical noise is caused by radios and cell phones, and also by...

GE Frame 9E Increasing Exhaust Spread after Fuel Change Over
Air in the liquid fuel supply piping is likely the cause of the large MW swings you saw during the transfer, because of large swings in the liquid fuel supply pressure. And, once the air got out of the lines--and the liquid fuel supply pressure stabilized--then the load stabilized. An...

Ramping up a Generator while RPM is Constant.
Try this thread. http://control.com/thread/1509018477 The answer lies in the basic AC frequency formula: F=(P*N)/120 And, synchronization. It's a <b>VERY</b> powerful word--and if it wasn't so important to <b>synchronize</b> a machine when connecting it to a grid (of any size)...

Mark IV C Controller Freeze
It's unlikely, but not impossible, that the freezing of the <C> display is related to the ground problem. If the ground is worse during rain, well, then rain water is getting into some device or junction box which is probably outside of any enclosure. It could even include vibration switches...

GE Frame 9E Increasing Exhaust Spread after Fuel Change Over
Incomplete combustion will be most evident as whitish or white smoke coming out of the stack. Usually, when burning liquid fuel (distillate or HSD (High-Speed Diesel)) the exhaust is light tan or light brown (depending on the amount of water- or steam injection, and I'm referring to coventional...

Yet another<b>CORRECTION</b>.... >It's) interesting that the spread was not worse on gas >fuel prior to the trip, and it's not clear if the >reduction in <b>spread</b> was observed while running on liquid fuel >or gas fuel. Apologies, again, for any confusion.

Thank you for the feedback. The leaking will not help with atomization of the liquid fuel, but unless it’s a significant leak it shouldn’™t affect the liquid fuel operation at rated speed. It should, however, be repaired. It’™s interesting that the spread was not worse on...

Mark IV C Controller Freeze
It’s impossible to say with any degree of certainty without knowing what Diagnostic Alarms were present prior to the loss of active data. What happened to the ground after <C> was re-booted? Was the voltage measured with a voltmeter or from the frozen display?

Use the selector valve handle on the discharge of the flow divider to record the first 14 positions (two people are best, one to turn the handle, the second to write down the pressures). Any pressure which is 10% higher or 10% lower (or more!) means there is some problem with either the liquid...

joe45678, Thank you very much for the information, and for the continuing feedback during the resolution of this problem! I hope the unit has been returned to service and that everything checked out during the re-start and that any past problems are just that now--a thing of the past.

Looking for Insights About Dual Configuration in Mark VIe
Isulamu, I'm probably one of the most curious and inquisitive people you would ever meet, and I had a LOT of questions about DUAL Redundancy the first time I encountered it. And the second time. And the third time. But, I'm also a pragmatist--and performance speaks volumes about a concept...

Looking for Insights About Dual Configuration in Mark VIe
Isulamu, I am bewildered by the questions--and comments--in your most recent post. I can't tell if some Mark VIe is having problems (which it would be helpful if you would describe here), or is you're having problems with the design and implementation of DUAL Redundancy by GE in their Mark...

TBCB Card Not Updating
waltrobinson, Thanks for the feedback. If the Customer won't go for moving the signal to <Q> I would suggest trying to install a mA signal isolator between the mA output of the PLC and the mA input of <C>. And, then I would try inserting the BJC12 jumper. (I would actually try inserting the...
