Mark IV Speed Ratio Valve LVDT/HSAA problem (GE Frame 6)
Chris, You've written a fine description of the details of the problem, but I'm not so sure I'm convinced that this is the cause of the problem of momentary disturbances of the fuel flow-rate. I say that because <T> should be reading the high-selected value of SRV position feedback and if...

No logic I/O change at dtba and dtbb cards of CD core
Can you force relay outputs of the <CD> core to "1" and "0"? If so, one would believe the IONET is working properly. There are LED "bargraphs" on the TCDA cards in <CD> and <QD1>. When there are no Diagnostic Alarms then they should all blink in the same sequence at the same time. The...

MARK-V HMI
The HMIs don't communicate with each over the StageLink. They might communicate with each other over the PDH (via Ethernet) but they don't--and can't--communicate with each other over the ARCnet-based StageLink. TCI is just the MW-Windows service that allows a PC to communicate with a Mark V...

No logic I/O change at dtba and dtbb cards of CD core
If <C> is showing I/O Status A7 then it's not likely a EEPROM problem on either card. <b>WHAT DIAGNOSTIC ALARMS ARE BEING ANNUNCIATED?</b> Is one of them something like "BATREF LOST"? Have you checked for the presence of 125 VDC at the DTBA and DTBB cards? That power should come on to...

MARK-V HMI
ASHGAR, I purposely did not comment on the first two questions. It's not clear where you obtained the GE Mark V HMIs, nor if they are configured properly. I don't know the permissible combinations of MS-Windows and TCI and CIMBRIDGE and CIMPLICITY and CIMPLICITY Service Packs. There are...

GE 7FA flame indication
You neglected to inform us of the type of combustion system on you turbines--DLN or conventional (non-DLN). Since the turbines likely have DLN combustors, the problem is most likely that something caused the fuel splits to change for those periods of time which caused more fuel to be burned...

Mark V alarm
It's no secret that I'm not a fan of GE Mark V HMIs. There are just too many combinations of MS-Windows and TCI and CIMBRIDGE and CIMPLICITY and CIMPLICITY Service Packs and Signal Manager and Workbench, and many of them require slightly different procedures--and <b>NONE</b> of them are...

ashgar, You are most welcome, and please let us know how this proceeds. Also, do not forget to check the 50/60 Hz filter setting in the I/O Configurator (if the software in the Mark V supports that filtering capability).

view2t.exe Trigger in MkV HMI
If there is no existing logic that changes state at about the time your event occurs, then, yes; you'll need to create one to use as a trigger.

Compressor Pressure Discharge Dipped
If there isn't sufficient air to keep the compressor bleed valves fully closed, then THAT could be the reason for the dip in CPD. Fixing the leak could have restored sufficient pressure to keep the compressor bleed valves fully closed. And remember, there should be CONTINUOUS blow-downs in...

GT Grid CB trips on flame off during shutdown
> Maybe someone set it up that way on purpose. Isn't the better question: Does the unit usually operate like this or is this a problem? If this is a problem, when did this problem start? What alarms are being annunciated during this five minute "idle" period if this is a relatively new...

Ashgar, I don't know if I quite understand what you're describing, but if I understand correctly then jumpers need to be installed between the "open" third conductors of each RTD in the Marshaling Cabinet. And at least one or two of the RTDs should have conductors from the generator...

Type VIEW2T / at a command prompt to get a "Help" screen. Should be pretty self-explanatory.

RTDs and temperature values
The grounding of one of the compensation leads at the generator is <b>VERY</b> common on GE-design heavy duty gas turbine-generators. It is an inexpensive way to reduce the wiring costs by using two-conductor cabling for each RTD signal versus three-conductor cabling. There should be a least...

Frame-9 troubleshoting
You have given us no idea of how the turning gear system would operate in the absence of AC power. There are Frame 9Es and Frame 9Fs, and there are lots of differences between the two, and in the cooldown mechanisms employed as "turning gears." The turbine will be tripped and it will coast...
