Peak load operation & its effect on GT frame 9E m/c supplied by GE
Please obtain a copy of GE document GER-3620. A previous thread had this link to a document on the World Wide Web: http://www.gepower.com/prod_serv/products/tech_docs/en/downloads/ger3620k.pdf (Remove any spaces inserted by the control.com software.) But I was unable to make it work...

The humor is so dry, it's wilted and blown away, never to be seen. >I guess it doesn't need it. Now there's a good reason. "I guess...." And an even more laughable explanation. Now there's some humor!

LVDT in GT
Okay, silent_majority. Let's say the original poster is working on a Frame 5 with DLN-I combustors driving a generator using a Mark VIe control system. Can you provide a procedure? If not, what control system could you provide a procedure for? If you want the poster to provide more...

Frame 5 GT of GE
WHEN DID THIS PROBLEM START? After a maintenance outage? What Process- and Diagnostic Alarms are annunciated when this condition is occurring? Is this a single-shaft Frame 5 (MS-5001) or a two-shaft Frame 5 (MS-5002)? Conventional combustors or DLN-I combustors? The...

Combustion dynamic
Huh? If the original posting is understood correctly there was more than sufficient pressure during starting; it was just above the alarm setpoint. So, the unit should certainly have been able to start and run at rated load with gas fuel pressure just above the alarm setpoint. (The SRV might...

GT stress evaluator & critical speed
There are several reasons--and the thought processes behind them are all changing as we write! One is that GTs, by nature, experience high thermal stresses during start-up and shutdown--it's a fact. Properly tuned and operated machines should minimize the thermal stresses during starting and...

Gas Turbine Tripping on ACALIB command
>Please let us know how to perform >GCV/SRV calibration using ACALIB and UDD >command. One more thing: AutoCalibrate and the User Defined Displays (Demand Displays) for servo-operated devices equipped with LVDTs are mutually exclusive. They can be used to perform essentially the same...

EGD in MARK 6e
Demigrog, Which Ethernet network(s)? The IONET network? The UDH network? The PDH network? And why, if you are referring to the UDH (which is what this post is primarily referring to) is it necessary to add signals desired to be displayed on the HMI to EGD pages in Toolbox or...

Gas Turbine Tripping on ACALIB command
I don't know what your position is or what your job's responsibilities are, but here's the procedure that needs to be used for the turbine at your site: Get some training. I started to write a novella about all the things wrong with the sequence you described, but then I realized it's not...

atomizing compressor failed at frame 5 gas turbine
Exactly. Backflows through the AA pigtails/manifold can be very destructive. I've seen tips of fuel nozzles liberated and go downstream because of lack of cooling (which is one of the things Atomizing Air does to the nozzle tips).

Close Feedback Loss of Gas Vent Valve (FSV 352) Causing GT to Trip
Most of the time, limit switches on GE-design heavy duty gas turbine applications indicate one condition. In the example of the closed-position limit switch, L33PS1C, it indicates FULLY CLOSED. if the valve is anything other than FULLY CLOSED, then it's NOT FULLY CLOSED. It doesn't have to be...

RTD signal type
It doesn't meet the definition of discrete. And we don't know what your definition of "analog" is. In my world, it's an analog signal because it's not simply a "1" or "0". In some people's world, an analog signal is only something that has a fixed range, like 0-5 VDC or 4-20 mA. If...
