droop and isochronous control of alternators

This topic has been covered ad nauseum on control.com. Use the 'Search' feature to find archived threads for explanations, at least related to GE Speedtronic implementations of droop and isochronous control, which are pretty much industry-standard approaches as well.

If you have any specific questions, ask them here.

One more thing: Droop and isochronous control are not alternator control modes. They are prime mover control modes (a prime mover is a steam turbine, or a combustion turbine, or a reciprocating engine, or a hydro turbine, or a wind turbine, etc.). Prime movers provide torque to alternators. Alternators convert torque to amps. Motors convert amps to torque.
