I am connecting a SLC503 to another vendor's module over Modbus. Problem is they default their node address from the factory, and I need to network several together. Other than using multiple Master Ports is there a hardware answer?

you can set your modbus module on SLC as master/slave. Make sure about the other system communication setting (baud rate, parity, etc). You must use the same communication setting.

you must set your modbus module node address different with the other system.

make sure about protocol too, is it use RS-422/RS-232 or RS-485??

after you check all above, i'm sure you will not face the problem.
