On January 15, 2010, gongkong® published dynamic market research reports of the fourth quarter and “gongkong Index” of the fourth quarter and full 2009.

Automation market index of the fourth quarter of 2009: gongkong Index is 103.5, OEM market index 115.4 and project market index 96.8. After the “terrible fall” in the first half year, Chinese automation market began to get recovery in the third quarter and even saw a tail-raising phenomenon in the fourth quarter.

According to the report of the fourth quarter released by gongkong® Dynamic Research Center, the sales amount of Chinese automation products reached 16 billion yuan in the fourth quarter, an increase of 3.5% year on year. The OEM market realized 15.4% growth compared with the same period of last year, while the project market continued with negative growth, yet the rate has shrunk to 3.2%. No matter for OEM or project market, the year-on-year growth rates both reached a peak.

Looking over the major application industries of automation products, most in the fourth quarter took on a year-on-year increasing trend, among which those growing higher include wind power equipment, textile machinery, elevator, plastics machinery, machine tool, municipal, transportation tool and so on. In particular, some industries influenced by the financial crisis also took the lead in presenting a positive trend. Though a large number of industries got to warm up, there were still some in depression, including thermal power, basic chemical, printing machinery, paper making, and port machinery and so on.
