April 12, 2021 by Seth Price

Hannover Messe, one of the world’s largest trade shows, kicks off today. The event runs from April 12th through the 16th.

Hannover Messe 2021 Kicks Off Virtually

This trade show has been an annual tradition since 1947 and has continuously attracted large numbers of speakers, vendors, and industry professionals from all over the world. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hannover Messe 2021 will be 100% virtual.

Participants can tune through different live stream “channels” to view special events and vendor demonstrations. Most of the events and demonstrations are available in English, and many are available in German.

Keynote Speakers

This year’s keynote speakers include industry and business executives, such as Dr. Herbert Diess, CEO of Volkswagen, to policymakers and leaders, such as Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Aside from guest speakers, there will be over 1700 vendors across the technology industries. Amazon Web Services, Bosch Rexroth, Microsoft, Cisco, and many more industry leaders will demonstrate how their products will develop and transform traditional manufacturing into smart industries and intelligent production of goods.

Hannover Messe is packed with events and discussions. The event is hosted by over 100 speakers, ranging from fuel cells to AI to carbon-free production. Whether you are looking to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies, develop preventive maintenance protocols, or get started in digital infrastructure and cloud-based services, there are learning opportunities for all.

To navigate Hannover Messe, the users can select a channel and watch the live stream from their computer or mobile device. Should they want to switch sessions, they change the channel, which will bring up a different presentation or discussion. Outside of the main channels, there are also vendor channels and networking opportunities.

There will be a “matchmaking” session during this event, where company interests are compiled, and companies are paired in meet-and-greet style sessions to see if they match each other’s business needs.

Users can link appointments to each participant’s calendar and schedule appropriately. To participate in these “matchmaking” events, users can create a profile and digital business card that will serve as background information for creating matches.

WomenPower Congress

One of the key events at this year’s Hannover Messe is the WomenPower Congress, which focuses on career advancement for women in tech industries. Three channels will be running talks on April 16th, including such topics as “More Equality and Diversity Through AI?” and “Let’s Shift to Get Things Moving.”
