July 12, 2021 by Damond Goodwin

Microsoft and InEight partner to develop a construction project management software to help control engineers and plant operators with facility management.

InEight Teams up with Microsoft

InEight is a company that specializes in construction project management software. InEight provides project management software to keep projects on track and under budget. Their software is used to help customers manage risk, keep budgets in control, and projects on time throughout the entire process.

Their products are designed to help avoid costly surprises. They also aim to help customers make informed decisions throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Recently, InEight teamed up with Microsoft, combining InEight’s project controls platform with Microsoft Dynamics 365 to create Construction 365. The combination of InEight and Microsoft has led to a platform that uses InEight’s construction expertise with Microsoft's financial management software to create a solution for managing construction projects.

What is Construction 365?

Construction 365 is software is capable of providing management solutions for construction projects. The program may help bring information from the back office to the construction site.

The ability to allow for free-flowing information helps to reduce the number of costly surprises in the construction process. This can also help with risk management.

With the software, customers receive Microsoft Dynamics 365 in addition to InEight’s projects control software. It is designed to help with challenging applications that include a faster integration into the project.

Construction 365 unifies the data experience, including the following:

  • Customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Estimating
  • Project Controls
  • BIM
  • Risk Management
  • Document Management
  • Scheduling
  • Accounting
  • Procurement

The platform was designed to reduce or eliminate redundancies, errors, lost data, and data silos with data sharing capabilities. This can be done through desktop and mobile capabilities. This solution creates the possibility of easier data transparency, helping to improve security and data transfer.

The system helps to improve the outcome of long-term projects by keeping data organized throughout the entire construction process.

Software Integration

The companies designed these tools to mitigate risk and improve visibility and control. The system is designed to make data transparency more accessible.

The new software aims to keep projects on time and under budget to reduce downtime. InEight and Microsoft are hopeful that this fruitful partnership will help construction sites and industrial plants speed up their processes.
