My utility is looking into the potential need to run ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) full-time in our gas turbines. We have one LM6000 in a combined-cycle configuration, several frame 7's, and several frame 5's. Our supplier provides a preblended lubricity additive, but we haven't gotten a confirmation from GE that it is safe to run in our turbines. Does anyone have experience running ULSD in their units? Has it caused any problems? Were you able to get approval from GE? What additives have been safe and/or effective? Have you found a pump that works better with it?
