I think due to protected software license even if you have VDI files, it will not work.
You need to buy the license.

Alternatively, if you have VM, download the ControlST packate from the OEM's customer portal and install it.
Few customers in one of the user confrence told me that they got a demo license for all the latest software from OEM for about 300 days to play with.

I heared in a GT user form, that You may reach out to their customer care team by email along with the correct part number for a 365 days trial license.

Interesting to know that if you get License for V8, then few newer version of V7 also works with the same keys.
