Capacitor Bank VArplus2
a_rishi... Welcome to Control.Com! What is your concern? Do you doubt it being Delta or Wye connected, or its capacity is 50 kVAr, then check it with a V, A, R, L, C, hand-held circuit-parameter tester! Regards, Phil Corso

Need Typical Design
Eng.Musaab... Now I'm very curious. My suggestion was going to be: o Shorter Switchgear line-up; o 7 symmetrically arranged Breaker Cubicles, instead of 8; o 3 Gensets, instead of 4; o 3 Sets of Synchronizing Gear, instead of 4; o 3 Sets of Genset Protection Gear instead of 4; o The larger the...

Electric motor torque control based on speed - Interaction/instability problems
MiguelS... Welcome to Control.com! Are both motors coupled to the same shaft, that is, connected in tandem, but electrically powered Direct-On-Line (DOL)? If so, then I can tell you that you will have a problem, but it is easily corrected even if the motors are unequal in size! Regards, Phil Corso

Need Typical Design
Eng.Musaab... Welcome to Control.com! Presuming this is a short-lived, one-time project, with limited cost but without future concern, I suggest an SLD consisting of a single buss-bar line up, with one pair of Generator CB's on left-side, the other pair on right-side, and the 4 Load CB's between...

Power factor correction
Power factor correction JeffersonAirplane... Hi To correct power factor and consequently reduce the amunt of current the source has to provide for the active power (true work we want) and the reactive power. The way is to add impedances to the circuit to the load impedances. The added ones are...

Steam tripping after one minute of the GCB closed and the first alarm is STG power factor
Ghaith123... Your mention of a "400kV breaker" suggests a sketch, (preferably a print) of the system Single-Line-Diagram (SLD) would be helpful Do you have records of V, A, MW, PF, RPM or Hz, data for the 2 paralleled machines before-during-after, the reported event? Phil Corso

Query Regarding PMG
Samiullah... Welcome to Control.com! One way I solved a similar problem was to connect it to a very low 3-phase voltage source. Then check for stator-current balance, hot spots, and unusual odors! Also it's very important to check how stator-iron is connected to the motor carcass. It should only...
