Can we use LCI without turning gear ?
WTF I too can't say with 100% certainty, but I was taught that the LCI needs the rotor rotating so it can synchronize itself to the phase of the rotor to stator. By applying a small amount of current to the rotor, it can monitor stator voltage to determine proper phasing to rotate the "Motor"...

Ge-Frame 3 Ms3002J spark plug overheating
Good catch on the picture WTF, that has to be the issue with the plug not being allowed to fully retract from the combustor!!

Dual Element Thermocouple for Frame V
JasonG, you will probably have the best luck contacting someone like Conax or Ametek to see about a custom TC. I not seen dual element TC's supplied from the OEM for exhaust or wheelspace, only bearings in my experience.

Real Power and Reactive Power Load Sharing During Disturbance
Scling, pleaese understand with my response I am trying to be helpful and not trying to be cruel. You need to enlist help from someone that can help you understand the operation of droop control. Droop control is not meant to control frequency!! When you have units operating in parallel with...

Dual Fuel 7EA DLN1 - Matching FSR1&2 for fuel transfers
So nice to see the big hitters CSA and WTF being able to take a few minutes, well more time than that for sure, to provide some great information.

Nexus meter
Curious_One, you are definately welcome. Don't want to get too far off from the OP, but I have found as with other products getting talking to the device is half the battle sometimes. The older Nexus being serial only, getting a backup of the configuration guarantees the unit will last...

Nexus meter
Jeff, as curious one has stated, more info helps us provide better answers, and ask less/better questions. Was this a controls upgrade? If so, what was the old system, and what is the new? Was there previously only 1 dwatt transducer and now there are 2? Nexus meters were typically included...

Gas Turbine High Exhaust Spread Problem
IF you replaced the fuel nozzles and spreads improved then it seems the nozzles may be getting fouled by something from the fuel source. Have you sent out the fuel nozzles for evaluation and flow testing? What fuel is this unit operating on? Do inject water or steam for Nox reduction or power...

Gas Turbine Trip without any alarm
Transporter84, I am not familiar with the MKVI+ then, I was thinking it was a migration, sorry my mistake. Could you post any pictures of the hardware you have just so I can better understand what you have? I will be working on a MKIV migration to a MKVIe migration in the coming months so I...

Gas Turbine Trip without any alarm
I would suggest that you need to create a triggered trend, or a Dynamic Data Recorder to capture the trip. Most likely the historian you have only collects data at 1 second or slower and can't catch the trip. Do you have working data historian Triplogs that you can review? If so then this...

Frame 5 GE turbine wait time after ratchet failure?
jacarey67, Some of my reply may be information you already know, and some comments are just comments based on past experience, I can't back them up with specific documentation. The purpose of turning gear or ratchet systems is to slowly rotate the rotor to prevent rotor bowing, most common for...

Error when opening ToolboxST on mark vle
So if you were able to previously open ToolboxST from GT1_SVR and now you can't then somehow files for ToolboxST were deleted, accidentally or by choice which is not good. Is it possible that software for ToolboxST was upgraded on the CRM1_SVR but not on GT1_SVR. I suggest looking in the...

Error when opening ToolboxST on mark vle
Shmuelda, were you previously able to open ToolboxST from this workstation? It may be that certain parts of the ControlST suite are not installed on the GT1_SVR.

GE frame 7AE flame out on transition out of premix SOLVED
jeff3300, nice find on this. Concrete boroscope pictures like this are few and far between. It is kind of surprising that whoever put this machine back together after a CI? or hot gas? did not check this prior to putting the primary fuel nozzle back on. I am guessing both plugs and possibly...

UCVH & VCMI Failed to communicated in R core.
GT_MARK6, If you are still watching this thread I would ask if you have tried replacing the "R" core processor, UCVH? I have not seen everything, but I can say I have yet to ever see a CF card go bad or get corrupted. The CF card is only needed when the processor is cold booted, otherwise it...

L1ZX unnecessary condition
no_bug, I would suggest that you request a PAC or ER case through GE to review this logic. Based on the logic you show above the B contact with variable L43CA driving logic for RUNG_56 should not be included in either rung. The L43CA contact B for the logic in RUNG will allow the Cooldown to...

Actual IGV angle not same as both reference and feedback.
Dayo, thank you for the feedback and glad you were able to find the issue. I will recommend that whenever the IGV angle is being checked it is best to do so in the inlet using a protractor to verify the actual angle of the IGV's. The pointer is a great indicator for general angle, but I would...

SRV Valve Hunting
The full migration removes all the core racks, R+S+T and the VPRO's X+Y+Z. All black 37 pin cables from the VME racks to the terminal boards are removed. I/O packs are installed on the terminal boards along with power and ethernet cables. Some terminal boards require replacement since they...

Actual IGV angle not same as both reference and feedback.
Dayo, I would suggest that the system needs to be inspected. Something mechanically seems to have changed that needs to be inspected. It is possible that the "Dogbone" as it is called, the turnbuckle that links the IGV actuator to the IGV ring, has moved or its adjustment has changed. Without...
