Actual IGV angle not same as both reference and feedback.
Dayo, calibration of the feedback of the IGV's requires using a protractor to measure the actual angle of the blades, and a person who knows how to read a protractor and properly align it to the IGV blade. Its not something I can explain here. Refer to your GE O+M manuals to understand that...

SRV Valve Hunting
JasonG, cool to hear you are migrating to the 6e. I did that back in 2018, I hope you are performing a "Full" migration and not a "Platform upgrade". There are major differences between the two upgrade paths. Keeping the servo wires disconnected for the problematic core should be just fine...

SRV Valve Hunting
JasonG, no apology needed or expected, only want to better understand the situation and try to help. I know from experience the time required to write a story that documents the situation so all can understand where you are at and what you have done. Curious to know what fixes the issue. If...

DOS-based Mark-V HMI Virtualization possible?
Rizwanhaider, this subject has been discussed many times before, I would suggest you use the search feature to look for related articles. Many of the difficulties are getting drivers for Arcnet cards with newer mother boards, disk drive sizes etc. For your management group, I do not understand...

SRV Valve Hunting
Jason, a lot more background would be a good start. How did you "observe the SRV hunting? When did this problem start, or how were you made aware this was an issue? Is it causing issues with unit performance? Troubleshooting. I would not start by adjusting the Reg_Gain value. These values are...

GAS TURBINE HIGH SPREAD TRIP
Your answer is not clear. If you swapped nozzles with Can #6 and Can #9, did the problem follow the nozzle? Or stay with the can? If the problem stayed with the can, then I suggest doing what is needed to swap fuel lines at the flow divider from can #6 to another can to see if the issue may...

GAS TURBINE HIGH SPREAD TRIP
I would suggest that you either replace the fuel nozzle if you have a spare, or swap the nozzles from can #6 to another can and see if the problem moves with the nozzle or not. Can this unit operate on another fuel? Or is it only designed to run on liquid fuel?

CSA, it has been a pleasure. Many have learned a LOT, myself for sure, on your verbose and rambling posts. All the best in your future endeavors.

Mkvie auto-reconfiguration files equality
Ahmed, I have noted some inconsistencies from the older versions of ToolboxST as they relate to the auto-reconfiguration files. I do not have enough experience with this type of error to have developed a standard procedure for fixing it. I would suggest first that you power cycle power "T"...

GE LM6000 Gas Turbine Generator - Optimum Mist Oil System Tank Pressure
John, I maintain a couple of GE Frame units that use a mist eliminator to keep a negative pressure on the bearing cavities. In our units the flapper valve used to be manually controlled. The lube oil tank negative pressure would vary based on unit load. GE recommended setting the flapper to...

GE frame 7AE main hydraulic oil pump failure SOLVED
Nice job with the diagnosis and thanks for the feedback. We have 2 units commissioned in 2005 with ~110K fired hours. We replaced the shifting shoes within a couple of years and they looked awful. Hard to believe yours lasted this long. Glad you got it handled, hopefully helps someone else...

How to measure 125VDC contact inputs at Mark V DTBB terminal board
Dear phineascage, there are others that may have more time to provide a longer response, but here are a few quick answers. Nice job explaining and asking the questions BTW, and referencing the manual. I would like to know what to expect to see in VDC across the POS and the RET input terminals...

Starting Motor inability to break turbine away during a Compressor Off-line Water Wash.
Kwabena, thank you very much for clarifying the type of unit and auxiliaries you have. CSA has done a great job in explaining some of the possibilities that could have caused the issue. With the successful start it is impossible to say what the issue was, and you won't have a chance to...

Starting Motor inability to break turbine away during a Compressor Off-line Water Wash.
Kwabena, I am not perfectly familiar with the 9E since I am in the USA. Does your unit have hydraulic ratchet cylinders to break the turbine from a standstill? (Normally used on air cooled generators) Or does it depend on the torque converter itself to break the shaft away from a standstill...

7E DLN1 Primary Re-Ignition Combustion Hardware Tempered on Cold Side
ERG, in my experience of maintaining 2 DLN1 units for ~100K fired hours my issues with PRI events was due to low gas temperatures. We do not have a fuel heater and our gas temperatures were ~40 degf into the gas fuel module. After the pressure drop across the SRV and the primary valve, it was...

Mark vi HMI issue
SLU, I would suggest: The issue shown in your 3rd screenshot related to the VVIB card looks to be related to hardware, or voltages related to the specific proximitor modules for the specific bearings. I can't see this issue being with the VVIB card or its configuration. The issue with graphics...

Mark vi HMI issue
SLU, I am not sure when this problem started for you and if it all started at the same time. One of your screenshots shows that certain buttons on the startup screen are not getting data to support color animation for the control buttons. For this issue it typically means that the signal is not...

Compressor Bleed Valve fail to close
Dan, Like CSA has said the more info you provide, the better the answer we can give. We can assume a whole lot, and probably make up some really good sounding stuff, but that doesn't help anyone. In the past we could assume you are working on a GE heavy gas turbine, maybe the common 7FA or...

GE Mark VIe PVIB 1X harmonic relative to key phasor
Hi G James, when you look at the tabs for Gap 1-3 and Gap 4-8 there should be a column called VIB_Type4. In that column there is a dropdown to select VIBPROX-KHP1. Is that was is selected in your application?

Mark VIe R controller diagnostic, IONET1 issues
MnM, I would suggest that this most likely sounds like an issue with: One if the IO net switches for the "R" core network. Power Supply for the "R" core and IO packs. Issue with the "R" core processor. With the unit running it is difficult to diagnose the issue without risk of tripping. I am...
