Passive Variable Reluctance speed sensors cable length limitation
enjep, This is an excellent question for either the company selling you the speed pick-ups, or the manufacturer (Dynalco).

Gravitational by-passes the hood
Merabiko8, There was most likely a manual provided by--or available from--the ”hood” manufacturer. (Though I'm sure you're just interested in what signal(s) do I force to manipulate the louvers?” [I completely fail to understand the juvenile fascination with forcing signals.... But, then I am...

Gravitational by-passes the hood
Merabiko8, Thank you for posting the attachment. Everything you asked is answered in the document. Find the control box and the actuator(s). Sorry I was wrong about the implosion doors--though these seem to serve a similar function.

Load Sharing Meaning?
'Load sharing' has many, Many, MANY different usages in power generation. The original poster asked about 'load sharing module' so I used my limited knowledge of some types of load sharing modules typically employed at power generation facilities. Actually, my (least) favorite definition/usage...

Calculating %age droop setting
sukalaskar, Were the turbines/plant DESIGNED (intended) to operate independently of the grid (island operation)? These days when there are multiple generator sets (generators and their prime movers) to be operated in island mode there is also usually some kind of external 'power management...

Causes of Reverse Power in Generators
Most of the reverse power protective relays I have worked with had inverse time delay characteristics--meaning the faster the rate of increase in reverse power the quicker the relay would act to open the generator breaker. Beginning with Mark* V turbine control systems, GE incorporated a reverse...

Gravitational by-passes the hood
I couldn't resist reading this thread, based on the title/subject.... It gave me quite a chuckle, as did the questions. Merabiko8, I think you are referring to what are frequently called air inlet implosion doors in the turbine (axial compressor) air inlet structure (ductwork) of a GE-design...

Causes of Reverse Power in Generators
Curious_One, You said the second coil will trip the generator breaker if the first one doesn't. amit0612 should be seeing an alarm SOMEWHERE if the something is trying to trip the generator breaker via the primary trip coil. This is just so typical of many plants and operators today: People...

Doubts regarding the TTXSPL and TTXSP1 in a MS 5002C turbine
RDCH, You would need to provide a LOT more information about the version of Mark (s), the version of the exhaust temperature spread algorithm (TTXSPVn) used in the Mark of both units, and some information about the TTXD1_n values of the two units. (I suspect at least one of the units uses...

Srv gcv calibration
Taki27, There are "diagnostic" alarms which can be annunciated during an AutoCalibrate procedure using Mark V (on the AutoCalibrate display). Many people just ignore, or don't see, these alarms. (Examples include things like 'feedback not changing;' 'excessive current;' etc.) I suggest that the...

Srv gcv calibration
Taki27, Thank you for the feedback/information. In 20 years of working on Mark V I have never had that problem. I have never known the Mark V to compare values in EEPROM with values in RAM and annunciate Diagnostic Alarms. Can you be more specific and provide the exact Diagnostic Alarm text...

Srv gcv calibration
Taki27, So, if AutoCalibrate changes the values in TCQA RAM of <R>, <S> & <T> and those values are the VERY BEST LVDT scaling ("calibration") values, and then the AVERAGE values get loaded into the I/O Configurator and downloaded to EEPROM, doesn't that mean two things? First, the values in...

IGV of GE gas turbine
Hamada ramadan, It's my understanding of the GE PFR (Primary Frequency Control) that there is no way to limit the minimum load. There may be some unusual or new logic/sequencing/application code, but when the grid frequency is unstable there is no way to limit the frequency excursions of the...

7FA: P2 Press and MW's Hunting. GCV's cycling
madmaccc, There's really too little information to say with any degree of certainty what might have happened. If the unit has DLN-2.n combustors and I'm not mistaken I think there's a mode switch somewhere in this range--but I'm not 100% certain about that. That could have triggered an...

Flame detectors at GE gas turbine
The original poster is talking about the secret unit having six (6) combustors, and that would be most likely a Frame 6F/FA, which would also most likely have DLN-2.x combustors. There are Frame 3's with six combustors, but I don't think they have DLN combustors--but I've been wrong before...

I'm good with that. And, I've already reduced myself to your level. I'm going back up where the air is a little fresher; it stinks down here. Enjoy.
