Diffrential Pressure Switch
Well, I wouldn't say we're friends just yet. Acquaintances, yes; colleagues, likely. Friends, well, don't you think that's rushing things? In any case, I'm now more confused than before. So, as for your concern for my health, I have something of a bigger headache now, thank you very much...

Upgrading from Mark-4 to Mark 6e
It's absolutely possible to get the download information from any Mark IV (non+ or +). But if you're NOT doing a migration, then it's not necessary to have the data downloads from the Mark IV. As long as your drawings are 100% accurate and you provide all the Control Constant printouts and...

Hydraulic oil supply to SRV/GCV
Are you trying to understand how the servo valves work, or how the valve actuators work, or what the symbols on the drawings mean, or how VH5 works? This is a huge question, and if you can narrow it down, or we can work on it one piece at a time, we can try to help.

Diffrential Pressure Switch
I've started to reply a couple of times, but I can't really understand where this switch is mounted. Is it on the gas turbine axial compressor or on the gas compressor which is driven by the gas turbine? I can tell you that when flame is lost, the gas turbine axial compressor discharge...

Atomizing Air Compressor discharge Pressure
Denice Thomas, You posted another question about gas valves, so this question must be about why AA pressure remains above CPD when the unit is running on gas fuel. There are two basic reasons. Most Frame 6B units have an accessory gear-driven AA compressor, and it runs all the time the...

mark6 alarm and logger problem
Dear, Congratulations on finding the file. You've hit the limit of my knowledge on this task. I'm wondering if you have a Mark VIe and not a Mark VI. If so, then you would likely have an HMI configured with WorkstationST and ControlST, and not TCI. In that case, the IE links, though...

CPD & Flame Scanners ASSINGNMENTS in MARKV Control System
My, you have a lot of requests. There are a few inconsistencies (Surprise!) in the Mark V's handling of I/O. You need to use ALL of the available documentation, which includes the I/O Report (TC2KREPT.TXT) and the Signal Flow Diagrams in Appendix D of the Mark V Application Manual...

load turbine speed reference (tnrl)
Is the unit at your site a single-shaft heavy duty gas turbine, or a two-shaft heavy duty gas turbine? What kind of control system is in use on the turbine at your site? Is the control system SIMPLEX or TMR?

mark6 alarm and logger problem
A former colleague just sent me a CONFIG.DAT from a hybrid HMI (don't ask!). I'm pasting what I believe to be the relevant lines here. But, if this is a new unit installation, you should contact the packager/installer and have them help you with making this standard function work! I'm only...

Frame 9E gas turbine over speed trip set point.
I want to caution anyone about this procedure!!! The CSP should be automatically changing the Control Constants for these tests. However, there were some early Mark V's that were shipped with CSPs which didn't do the switching properly, so a workaround was necessary if the sequencing wasn't...

F:\CONFIG.DAT is an ASCII text file, and you should find it in the SITE folder, in the "E:" drive on most new HMIs. It can be opened/edited with Notepad or Wordpad, but you MUST save any changes in MS-DOS format (not Word or RTF!).

F9 SLOW ROLL
Okay; now I'm confused. BB started this thread, and sd added his problem. We haven't heard from BB in a while, and now BB is posting again. BB's last input was on 15 Nov, and he stated they were awaiting two new 20TU solenoids with higher max pressure ratings, and that the unit had been...

Mark V or Mark VI interface to 3rd party HMI software
You can find any number of people who can provide an interface to the Mark V and the Mark VI for displaying data values on any. What you can only find in one place, that I'm aware of, is a Mark V interface that can fully and completely replace the Mark V operator interface. The Mark V and...

Frame 9E gas turbine over speed trip set point.
When you are testing an over-speed trip (electrical or mechanical), the "maximum search speed" is set to 113.5%. This is to allow the turbine speed to be increased above the trip set points (see below). Although I've never tried it, I believe that if, during an over-speed test, the turbine speed...

Digital turbine control systems, particularly those for steam turbines, require some very high-speed processing capability. That's because steam turbines can overspeed very quickly and easily. One should choose a digital steam turbine control system with the above thought in mind. Having said...
