Alternistor/Triac Firing Doubt

I am triggering tPDV1240 alternister through a optocoupler triac output IC moc3022.
Controlling of alternister fails in the range 120 degrees to 90 degrees. else where phase angle control works properly. In the range 120 to 90 degrees control is only on negative half cycle of input ac cycle but positive half cycle completely passes which is not good to inductive or resistive load across alternisters
Could anybody suggest me the method is wrong or correct & what precautions do i have to take

Method you are using is correct further pl. confirm the constuction of trac drivers.
