Hi; My PLC is controlled and communicates via optical fiber. How can I add another communication utility like radio or 3G as support in case of optical fiber malfunction?

 

It depends on the type of PLC you are using. Most medium to large-sized PLCs can add additional network cards to their rack or backplane. You may not find a wireless card to add, but you could add a wired network card and then connect it to a wireless switch.

 

You use a Fiber switch and use one of the ports on this switch to go to variety of Wireless communication schemes to get back where you want the information to be.
