I am trying to get some info about communications protocols available from Foxboro about Foxboro I/A NT based. Do you know does they have OPC server available? is there any other way to communicate ex: over network??

Thanks ahead,

Igor

EVERYBODY has an OPC server. You can find it on the web site at the I/A Store. They call it AIM*OPC and I think it was written by Matrikon.

You can use the AIM*OPC Server with Direct Access or Historical Data Access to translate IAS to OPC protocol, but if you want a bi-direct communication between IAS and PLCs you'll have to use an AW70X connected to NodeBus within I/O Gate for OPC from Foxboro Comp.

You might also want to try the GENCS OPC Server for Foxboro I/A from Matrikon as well. It doesn't require the interface to AIM*, one less component to haggle with.
