You can try a gateway from Modbus, Modbus Plus or Modbus TCP/IP to Hart. It is available from the company PROLINX Communication Gateways at www.prolinxgateways.com.
I would prefer MB+ or Modbus TCP/IP.
The HART component of the transmitter output is a configuration tool. It is not the signal output.
The real time signal is still a standard 4 to 20mAmp.
Although the 4-20 mA is used for closed loop control and alarming, lot's of users now want to pass the HART data through their PLC up to asset
management software. Users are also looking to use the HART device status as part of safety interlocks in the PLC. Therefore HART capability in the PLC is also important. Some control systems, such as Smar's SYSTEM302, already has this capability.
Mr. Carmona: lots of companies make multiplexers from HART to Modbus. See www.hartcomm.org
A option to perform this subject is using a HtMux from ARCOM, it recolects all of the digital data from a HART device and depending on your distribution you can have the digital signal (FSK HART) and the analog signal (4-20mA) both at a time in Modicon PLC having a RS-232 Modbus Port.
