Has anyone used an Interface to capture the Reports data sent to Printer port into a standard Database.

Basically i have a Report generating every Hour which gives the every minute average of the defined TAGS. This information I would like to take it to SQL Server for further analysis.

I do not have a PHD/any system which can make the system open.

What is the source of the data?

I/Gear (www.igearonline.com) has a product called the Data Transport Utility that has connectors to a number of different technologies. It can read from and write to the printer port. It can also connect to any database, including SQL Server.

 

SSM Infotech www.ssminfotech.com does have product called X-Force alarm management which are being extensively used for such type of applicaton where it can capture the data from serial,parallel or ethernet and configure to store in any odbc compliance databse as well as provide data over opc-da server interface.
