As i am busy to program a Simatic panel OP270 i can't download the program that i wrote with protool pro V6.0. In the manual from siemens they say that there are four different ways to download the program. I tried to use a USB cable & there was no possibility to get a connection to the OP. Then i tried a null modem cable in several ways ( via a breakout box with 2-3 3-2 + signal ground but at the end i got: config & operating system are different => updating the os might help. Can anyone send me the pinout for this cable?

thanks in advance.

You might want to try RS232 (Config/printer) at any
time even if it's not on transfer mode.
Check for latest firmware.

Johan,
the standard null modem cable is the best approach, in order to keep it simple.
You can buy such a cable at any computer store (modem cable).
If you got the error message Operating system needs upgrading then you need to follow the procedure in the manual to upgrade the operating system of the OP270. In other words, the OP270 you have is not a new one, you have had it a while. The Protool software has the ability to update the operating system of the OP270 for you.
I know this since I ran into this same situation at work about 2 months ago.
go to
www.ad.siemens.de/SIMATIC
look for Customer Support, manual downloads.
The manual you want applies to the
TP270/OP270/MP270 product family and is available as a download.
If you still have trouble, email at work and I can send it to you.
