Optimum speed calculation

Hi every1
I want to calculate the optimum speed of a two shaft gas turbine. What data required to calculate it?

Thanks

Re-read your original post.

You are asking about how to calculate the optimum speed (singular) for a two-shaft gas turbine.

Two-shaft gas turbines have two shafts that spin at two different speeds (plural).

Which shaft, or shafts, are you trying to calculate this "optimum" speed for?

Why isn't the manufacturer's recommendation for operating speed(s) at rated power output satisfactory?

For a running unit at a site, wouldn't the "optimum" speed of the low-pressure (output) shaft be the speed at which the driven device (load compressor?) produces the rated pressure and flow? And, so wouldn't the manufacturer's rated corresponding high-pressure shaft speed be the "optimum" speed?

Granted, sometimes the prime mover and the driven device aren't well matched, but it's really difficult to try to understand what you're trying to do without some clarification.

Are you trying to model something for a class? What do your text(s) say? If it's a theoretical question, you should be consulting texts and reference materials to obtain formulae.

Is this for for a simulation?

Or are you trying to improve the efficiency of the operation of some unit(s) at your site?

You really haven't provided much in the way of information for anyone to be able to help you.

Probably I can't help you much. Determination of optimum speed is a standard problem in hydro turbine design. Try to goggle (image) hydro turbine efficiency curves. You will find at least a graph to show how it is done for a hydro turbine. I don't know whether it helps.
