Water pumps are used to to irrigate the cultural lands. These water pumps vary from pipe size to water quantity. But analysis suggest that these pumps produce continuous supply to the lands. What we want to do is to use the water flow to run some generator which in turn produce electricity. For that our idea is to deploy a fan inside the pipe so that we could get more flow onto the fan thus making the cost of fan low. Something we stuck upon was what type or rated generator should we to produce like 10000 Watt power? this project is just initiated. I know lot have been done on it? What we want is something new, cheap and efficient. Moreover, that could be produced indigenously.
 
If you want "new,cheap and efficient", consider options from PRC. For quality, reliability and robustness i suggest to chose options from europe or america...fortunately in fields of power generation, transmission and engineering they are couple decades in front of the others. This issue has been discussed here a number of times before. The central problem is that the energy you are extracting from the water came from the pumps. If you extract energy from the water flow, the pumps will have to consume more energy. Because of the conversion losses, there will be a net efficiency (and monetary) loss overall. The most effective project here would be to find ways of improving the efficiency of the pumping process.

The only time this might make sense is if the system was fed by a difference in height, such that the water was captured behind a dam and fed to the irrigation system strictly by gravity. That could then be turned into conventional hydroelectric power (this is quite common).

If you want to investigate small scale electric power generation, look at wind and solar power. There are a lot of information resources on those and a great deal of work has been put into creating small low cost designs.

It is hard to believe that you can take 10000 watts of power from an irrigation pipe without causing problems for the irrigation effectiveness. If there really was an excess 10000 watts in that water stream, then somebody did a terrible job over-designing the pump. On the other hand, if the pump was designed well, then it uses just enough energy to move the water to where it needs to go, and there is no excess energy that you can extract.
