Hi,
When looking by Siemens on the page you might find different Profibus DP connectors. Those connectors are for fastconnecting, there is also a tool for stripping the fastconnect cables.
Go to http://www4.ad.siemens.de and search for Entry 1971286 which giving the ebook for SIMATIC NET PROFIBUS Networks 2000-05.pdf, in this ebook are all different Profibus connectors placed and also the stripping tool. Also the Profibus cables are all discribed in this ebook.
You'll several vendors to choose from. I've only used connectors from Phoenix Contact and Siemens. Not because they're any better, but they were what we had at the time.
Profibus connectors are available from a number of different vendors. Siemens, for one will sell you their connectors. In addition, Woodhead makes a really nice connector with diagnostic LEDs built in. Of course, the vendor you choose might also be affected by your application, and the type of connector that you require. To get a complete list of vendors check the Profibus Trade Organization website:
Phoenix Contact: (http://www.phoenixcon.com)
2744380 (straight)
2744584 (right angle)
For what it's worth, these are my preferred connectors.
Siemens: (http://www.sea.siemens.com)
6ES7-972-0BA410-XA0
Siemens has about a dozen part numbers for connectors; this one is a plastic housing 30 degree connector, with a switch to set terminating or not.
ERNI (http://www.erni.com)
The ERbic connectors have even more part numbers than Siemens.
Don't bother with Schneider or InterlinkBT; they resell ERNI.
