I want to devlop an application for a mobile phone that either supports java or visual basic.

This could be anything from a personal school timetable to an sms application. My ideal phone was the motorola a6188 (a picture can be sent on request) becoz of its large screen and touch pad.

I am developing confidence in both java and VB. What are the relevant platforms that i need to carry out my project and where do i get them?

I have tried to dowload java 2 micro edition from java.sun.com but i could not install it becoz parts of the s/w was missing.

Please help.
