Hi all.

Has any one tried Remote reset of Thermal Overload on a TeSysU motor starter/controller by Modicon Premium PLC via Modbus??

I am able to read the status registers of the Units, but unable to reset the thermal overload.

If any one has ever tried it please advice if there is any thing to do, not mentioned in product catalogues.

I am using the following hardware:
Motor Controllers/Starter: LUB12
Trip Unit: LUCB 12 BL
Modbus Unit: LULC032
PLC: Mdicon Premium TSXP57

Thanks and regards,
Syed Adnan

The manual for the LUCL032 does cover this. I don't have it in front of me but I have done it using the equipment you are using. You have to set a register in the LUCL to prevent the handle from tripping (rotating) on non short circuit faults. There is another register that allows a reset of the starter but you can't restart until the "cool down" period has elapsed. All is revealed in the manual.
