Banner Engineering Releases S15L Pro Series In-Line Sensor Status Indicator

Banner Engineering, a manufacturer of industrial automation solutions specializing in sensors, safety products, and visual communication tools, has recently announced the release of a new in-line sensor status indicator series, the S15L Pro. When technicians and engineers troubleshoot an automated system, easy-to-see sensor status can be an invaluable tool for figuring out the problem with the system in question.

The S15L Pro Discrete In-Line Indicator

The ability to quickly get visual confirmation of sensor status without having to search for individual sensor lights or search through ladder logic or code to see sensor status has the potential to greatly decrease labor time spent troubleshooting. The latest series of devices from Banner, the S15L Pro Discrete In-Line Indicators, is designed to provide users with a color-coded programmable solution for visually seeing sensor status. 

The new S15L features programmable status indication with either Modbus or discrete control. This ensures that operators gain access to clear status visibility of connected devices through visual cues, including distinct multicolor indications. With the ability to program various colors and even animations that can be adapted to individual situations, users can simplify the troubleshooting process.

Easy-To-See Status Indication

The in-line indicators can be controlled using Banner's free Pro Editor software, where colors and animations can be configured and controlled through simple discrete inputs.  With cascadable M12 connectors, the indicators can be quickly and easily installed directly to a compatible sensor or anywhere in the Modbus network. With the use of Modbus, users have access to a range of settings for color, flashing, and intensity.

The S15L Pro series features a tough, overmolded design that ensures long-lasting performance and reduced repair or replacement costs. The S15L Pro’s design features water ingress and dust protection ratings of IP65, IP67, and IP68 and an operating temperature range of -40 to 45 ℃, giving users reliability in tough industrial environments.

Flexible Mounting and Installation

Different accessory and mounting options are available to help facilitate the use of the status indicators. Pro Editor accessories include Banner’s PSW-24-1 power supply, a Modbus splitter, and a pro converter cable. Mounting options include two magnetic mounts, one that attaches directly to the indicator and one that attaches to the cord end. In addition, there are two mounting options for mounting to the cord end, one magnetic and one not.
