I bought a second hand card Micro Memory Card 8 MB 6ES7953-8LP20-0AA0 from eBay. Once I put into my Siemens CPU314C - 2 PtP my PLC goes to Stop mode and refuse to go to Run mode. I googgle and found that it might need to be formatted. Since my PLC can't go to Run mode which can't give me accsses to format it, is there another way one can format it? Or maybe some one can advice on how I can deal with this problem apart from formatting the MMC.

Another question I would like to throw here is, is there something that might be the cause of the PLC to go to Stop mode once I insert the Memory card?

The problem is that you need to use PLC software to do the formatting as I read on the internet.

 

Other ways of reformating are with a Siemens Field PG or making an image of a good Siemens card and restoring it to the problem card. Cannot use Windows to re-format card.
