Modbus Slave ID help
Seeing as how the value you're successfully reading for register 40088 (hex address 0057) is a 0, instead of a 1 as expected, and that writing to that register has no effect, I would bet the register listing document you have is incorrect for the device you have. The PDF you attached to your...

Using multiple slave with single master on same Modbus TCP port
No, it is not mandatory, nor is that even common. Most often, all devices use TCP port 502, which is the default Modbus/TCP port.

Homebrewed software to communicate with measuring device via Modbus TCP
The specific IP address used should be irrelevant. What matters is that your computer (or PLC) and the MC are on the same logical IP subnet. For example, when using a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (which is the most common, and the default subnet mask for the MC), the first 3 octets must be the...

Homebrewed software to communicate with measuring device via Modbus TCP
I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused by your post, as it seems you've done something entirely different with Iskra technical support than what I suggested. The MC 7x0 manual states that the device allows multiple Modbus/TCP connections on port 502. You opened two instances of Modbus Poll and...

Different devices on the same Modbus channel.
It is perfectly acceptable, and quite common, to have multiple vendors' devices on the same Modbus RTU bus (all devices do need to be configured to use the same baud rate and parity settings, though). This is the whole point of a published, open protocol - so that devices from different vendors...

Homebrewed software to communicate with measuring device via Modbus TCP
The port limitation on the MC is not which port is configured on the MC, the limitation is when a client actually connects to the port (i.e. opens a connection to TCP port 10001 or TCP port 502). If a client connects to the user defined port (10001, by default), that is the only connection that...

SPI Clock Signal Stuck High on Custom PCB with 48 MLX90393 Sensors (Hall Effect Device for Palm Rehabilitation)
Is your custom PCB a HAT board for the Pi or are you using wires for the SPI signals between the Pi and your PCB? The first thing I would try to do is narrow down the problem to either your custom PCB or the Pi. If possible, disconnect the two from each other, apply power to the custom PCB and...

Homebrewed software to communicate with measuring device via Modbus TCP
Perhaps your PLC uses multiple, simultaneous TCP connections when communicating to a Modbus device. Some devices/software do this for efficiency reasons, but other times it may be a result of misconfiguration or improper implementation by the vendor. What are the results of using only Modbus...

Homebrewed software to communicate with measuring device via Modbus TCP
As a test, I recommend trying a Modbus master simulator, such as Modbus Poll, in place of the MiQen software. In other words, attempt to connect and communicate to the MC750 with both the PLC and Modbus Poll to confirm that the MC750 does indeed allow 2 simultaneous Modbus/TCP connections on TCP...

Homebrewed software to communicate with measuring device via Modbus TCP
You should not need to change the user defined port on the MC750. In fact, the manual states that it is not allowed to set the user defined port to a reserved port, such as port 502. However, you do need to change the Modbus/TCP port in MiQen to 502. The screenshots you show are for assigning an...

Homebrewed software to communicate with measuring device via Modbus TCP
It seems the MiQen software supports several methods of communication to the MC 7x0 analyzers (with configurable IP Port), refer to pages 41 and 42 of the MC 7x0 User's Manual here: https://www.iskra.eu/f/docs/Power-monitoring-devices/K_MC7x0A_EN_22440500_Users_manual_Ver_1.01.pdf On page 63 of...

RS485 Communication with West Controllers
There is a built-in termination resistor on that TTL to RS-485 converter. Many others on here have had issues with that converter. Here are some more details: You may need to remove R7 from that MAX485 board (and remove or disable any termination connected to the RS-485 bus). Also make sure to...

NUFLO Scanner 2000 MODBUS RTU
Many communication issues are due to either incorrect wiring or mismatched configuration settings. Check your wiring. Make sure you have your RS-485 signals connected + to +, - to -, and GND to GND. Note that "A" and "B" polarity labeling is not consistent among vendors, so you may need to swap...

Controlling NO contact via email
Thank you for the update. If you already have a Crestron CP4 and it can be configured to detect when the Room Alert 3E's change state and trigger a NO contact for your alarm system, then this does seem to be the best way to go for your specific situation. I am curious though, how would the CP4...

Controlling NO contact via email
Just to confirm that my understanding is correct, where are you entering the MAC address of the Room Alert 3E? In order to configure the SNMP settings on the Room Alert 3E, you would enter the IP address of the specific 3E device into a web browser. This will open the device's web interface. By...

Controlling NO contact via email
No, I meant add a Room Alert 4E with the Relay Switch sensor. This is the magic hardware you're looking for. You would configure the existing Room Alert 3E's to send SNMP traps to the 4E. You would then configure the Room Alert 4E's relay to toggle on the alarm generated by receiving the SNMP...

Controlling NO contact via email
For what it's worth, it appears the Room Alert 4E in conjunction with the Relay Switch Sensor would work for this application, as the Room Alert 4E can also receive SNMP traps in addition to sending SNMP traps. The received SNMP traps generate an alarm and the relay output can be configured to...

Control Technique serial cable cost around 200 pounds - is it possible to build your own?
This should be pretty straight-forward by using the details and pinout described in the Mentor MP user's manual, specifically section 4.10 on page 54 here: https://www.nidec-netherlands.nl/media/2144-gelijkstroomregelaars-mentor-mp-user-guide-en-iss7-0476-0000-07.pdf#G8.1611296 The...

Controlling NO contact via email
Here are some ideas. I know you said you can't wire each device to your alarm system, but are you aware that AVTECH makes a Light Tower Adapter (LTA) accessory for the Room Alert 3E thatt provides 1 relay? Perhaps this could be used in some way...
