Load sharing during multi-unit island droop operation
wanfauzan, If you're talking about the total load on the two synchronized generator-sets, that would only vary if the island load varied. If you're talking about the load on the two synchronized generator-sets "shifting" from one to the other, that would likely be a function of the diesel...

Load sharing during multi-unit island droop operation
wanfauzan, This is most likely what Phil Corso is alluding to: ONE OUR OF TWO PARALLEL GENRATORS SHOWING REVERSE POWER ALARM | Automation & Control Engineering Forum And when he writes combustion-driven generator I think he really means combustion engine-driven generator. But, I've been wrong...

FactoryTalk vs MarkVIe
gilbertgrape87, SOLAR's implementation of A-B PLC hardware is really NOT a good example of PLC for turbine control. SOLAR have developed special modules for their units to use with the PLC. This negates one of the big reasons for using "off-the-shelf" PLC hardware--there are proprietary modules...

Load sharing during multi-unit island droop operation
wanfauzan, That explains how the more heavily loaded unit tripped on underfrequency (when Unit 2 was tripped). Is the the typical profile of operation when the two units are synchronized and operating as an island? The frequency changes as quickly as it seems to on these charts? Or, only when...

FactoryTalk vs MarkVIe
gilbertgrape87, I knew it was going to be something like this. And, I also knew the information provided was going to be ... thin. To say the least. We don't know if you're talking about a DCS or a turbine control system (but I presume DCS, since it's EXTREMELY doubtful GE would warrant their...

FactoryTalk vs MarkVIe
GilbertGrape87, Congratulations, you are embarking on a journey MANY have started, and few have successfully completed. Can a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), also known sometimes as a PAC (Programmable Action Controller) be successfully used as a turbine control system or a DCS...

Load sharing during multi-unit island droop operation
wanfauzan, When asking about the load after the separation from the grid, I wanted to know what the load did. Did it remain constant at 5.0 MW, did it increase or decrease, or was it fluctuating slightly? How long were the two units operating in island mode before the trip occurred? It seems...

Load sharing during multi-unit island droop operation
wanfauzan, 1) Which unit tripped due to under-frequency: generator 1 or generator 2? It's VERY difficult for me to understand how the two units can maintain frequency when separated from the grid which was supplying 200 kW. If the two diesels have identical control systems with identical...

MARK V ALARM (SEISMIC VIBRATION SENSOR IS DISABLED)
kafi_chems89, The Mark V uses Control Constant values to enable and disable vibration sensors. It's entirely possible that someone changed the Control Constants used to configure the vibration protection algorithms and either intentionally or unintentionally disabled one of the inputs. You...

Gas turbine ramp load capacity
barindra75, Where did you read the Frame 5 step load capacity is 3.5 MW? 3.5 MW per minute? 3.5 MW per second? In general, most GE-design B/E heavy duty gas turbines (Frame 5s are considered to be in this group of gas turbines) have a manual loading rate of 30 seconds from no load to full load...

In DCS GE MarkVIe how to make back-up of control logic in published pdf file?
rollymts, Well, not every control system creates back-ups in the same manner--or uses the same terms for back-ups. So, sometimes you need to forget what you know from other control systems and follow the instructions you were given in the first response: "If you want an electronic back-up of...

In DCS GE MarkVIe how to make back-up of control logic in published pdf file?
rollymts, Your question is not clear. If you want to print a copy of the application code (the control logic) of a Mark VIe, you need to click on File|Print and follow the prompts. (You can use the 'Help' feature of ToolboxST to learn how to print the application code, also....) You should...

LG front load WJ3H20NQP Washing Machine 60Hz 220v convertion
No. There is no chance to use the machine in your home country. The frequency difference is a HUGE factor and unless you have a VERY expensive frequency converter it cannot be overcome. It would be less expensive to buy a new washer in your home country.

What is control constant? How to identify constant and variables?
himeshvarshan, I've been trying to determine how to answer your second question, and I was hoping your response would include some clue as to whether or not you are actually working on a GE Mark* turbine control system or not. But, my hopes were dashed. Presuming you are working on a GE Mark*...
