ESD relay
It’s much easier to have Safety Relays housed in the MCC; is there a specific reason why they are separate / could your MCC supplier provide. Otherwise yes, you would use the MCC control supply.

Storage time of 6ES7-971-0BA0 backup battery
There is simply no available data - Siemens don't give anything away: https://mall.industry.siemens.com/mall/en/ww/Catalog/Product/6ES7971-0BA00 The data sheet provides even less information: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/pd/240552?pdti=td&dl=en&lc=en-WW However the battery is fairly...

Multiple modbus slaves on one master
I wouldn’t make any assumptions as above - I would anticipate the Logger to be in charge of data collection with subsequent re-transmission. If so I’m guessing you have ‘piggy backed‘ the data logger and it’s data streaming. How do you know it’s not you sending spurious (bogus) data to the data...

The Valve Positioner
Not having a clue what the op is looking for, tried Googling " maker of electro pneumatic Valve positioner in India" and came up with at least 3 with a plethora of others offering supply to India.. What are we looking for ? https://jekonvalves.com/accessories/electro-pneumatic-positioner/...

lvdt # 2 rms voltage for monitor 2 out of limit ???
It's a very long time since I coded software with probably one of the first lvdt's made - that couldn't go out of limits so the above message seems to be a cryptic code: a) lvdt is broken b) time to panic ! Clearly someone has realised this is off a turbine; in which case could you explain what...

Two VFD with DC BUS use one braking resistor
You haven't indicated why the DC bus on both VFD are linked is this suggest dual usage. As it stands only one resister is needed. Perhaps the idea was to have one motor decelerating whilst the other was running. One project I design/commissioned had motor 'pairs', one large the other small. The...

Cyclogram to Ladder Program
This is what happens when you are trying to program in fresh air.... What are the working parameters of your TON and TOF timers ? and do you need TOF ? Rockwell Ton needs retentive i/p to work, so you have to work out how to 'remember' that Start PB has been pressed. So you first line of logic...

InduSoft host stopped talking to ControlLogix PLC in Dresser-Rand compressor package
There is an old discussion on PLCTalk suggesting comms. is a weak link with Indusoft: http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/archive/index.php/t-110294.html but do recommend link for use in debug mode: http://www.indusoft.com/blog/2013/04/05/driver-runtime-in-indusoft-web-studio/ Hope this helps ..

Need Converter (24 V AC to 12 V DC, approx. load 60 watt) Automobile application
There are plenty of 24vDC to 12vDC converters on the market like Orion: https://boatelectricals.co.uk/orion-voltage-converter-24v-12v-5a/ The tricky bit is the 24vAC supply: https://cpc.farnell.com/voltdevil/zxpow061/24vac-12v-dc-power-convertor-1a/dp/SR08396 You could fit a 24vDC battery in...

RS232 to ETHERNET COMMUNICATION
the SLC 5/03 has also a RS485 port which will give higher speeds than RS232 port. https://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/um/1747-um011_-en-p.pdf Page 86. Bear in mind it's A/B's DF1 protocol. All you need then is RS485 to Ethernet converter - plenty to choose...

Help improving a product
You appear to have a part product, and that seems to be a hard sell. I’m not a SQL expert so have little interest in what you have. If I did have an application, I would code the software in house for commercial reasons. It appears you have a ‘product’ looking for a market instead of the other...

PRE DESIGNED PUMP CONTROL PROGRAM
What exactly are your pumps required to do ? Application software is not available off-the-shelf for you to buy; you either purchase a ’solution’ whereby you pay someone to work out what you really want, or you design your own electrical system and write coded software yourself - the above...

PLC Tribal knowledge.
I tended to work on the KISS principle for code assembly on the proviso, if I could understand it, other engineers would have a chance to do so. Did quite a few retrofit control systems back in the late 90’s. Noted other early designs were based on the same principle. Bigger systems with multi...

PLC Tribal knowledge.
I've never considered software to be 'pretty' in any shape or form ... It was in the early 90's end client mechanical engineer clearly defined his software which was full of latches that he expressly defined/named. Absolute nightmare to code and had to do a redundancy check as at least half the...

Rotork IQ70 MOV Issue Resolution(and some questions)
Rotork used to have simple but excellent controls on their valves. A spare part with a faulty display tends to suggest damage in storage; if no obvious signs I would reject Rotork's poor explanation and demand replacement without charge.

Read 2 devices with the Same Address
I'm certain it's possible to interface a device to change address externally, but in all my 40 or more years never had the need to do so. It would be easier to have a 2nd Modbus Network, or better still single cable link to one of the devices, where it's address is not so relevent. This is...

DCS Analog Input Loops - Blown Fuses
Interesting update .... I would go for the 50ma fuse blowing before re-settable fuse tripping detecting over current in the loop not at the analogue input. Mentioned weather above but would suggest static as a possibility. Static voltages could be suppressed at the analogue i/p terminals but...
