Modbus TCP and RTU is a time sink.
"There needs to be a new simple standard that at least can send data back and forth on 32 bit boundaries. " There is - it's called Modbus !! When Modbus was a PLC manufacturer Modbus was based on simple solid 16 bit architecture; this worked for us, for them and everyone else for decades. The...

Convertor for Ac voltage to 4-20mA
CSA is correct - B-N racks provide individual probes buffered o/p's. Many clients take this directly into PLC analogue cards for data processing. So why have something separate ? Rockwell provide excellent Condition Monitoring equipment...

Modbus TCP/IP client automation direct productivity 3000 series
You have given 2 good reasons why you should not use Modbus as a communications protocol - indeed justified in writing your own ! Modbus was expressly designed limiting to 32 devices - nor was speed on the agenda: Hundreds of end users worldwide use Modbus to deal with 3rd party devices where...

Is it possible to use DIN Rail Terminal Blocks for Modbus RTU
There are many occasions where RS485 has to interface with an outgoing cable for onward transmission - the easiest way is by DIN Rail Terminal Blocks. If your devices are local to each other and in the same metal enclosure then even better.

Shneider plc , ALU201L
It's over 20years since I programmed a Shneider plc so can't remember software used. It appears the ALU201L PLC requires software AKF 12at Version 3.0, E-No.424 271 521. I can''t see where it's available for free download so suspect it has a purchasing licence.

White box testing of PLC ladder logic source code
Yes ! It is perhaps assumed you would do nothing less. I must admit I did not appreciate the gigantic difference between GAMP category 4 & 5 until now, however White Box testing is a must. It was in the food industry not pharma we got as far as client test when we had multiple ethernet...

The device you quoted only gives up to 200mA .. https://sunyuan.en.made-in-china.com/product/SsOQUMaonukz/China-High-Current-Output-Analog-Signal-Isolated-Amplifier.html This one goes up to 500mA. Don't be put off by the Chinese - manufacturers in Shenzhen are generally very well organised...

Reverse proximity probes
You haven’t stated the application in mind; but my understanding of forward / reverse mounting is simply where the mounting bracket aligns the proximity switch. A working example is a large toothed wheel with 2 switches mounted in one bracket to give quadrature o/p [forward & reverse plus...

Can I get the Communication cable Pin details of MESSUNG PLC.
I've found very little information on Messung PLC on the part numbers provided. http://pejawarelectronics.com/catalogs/Nexgen%205000%20System%20Overview.pdf provide details (Page 16 onwards) for the NexGen. Indiamart may provide cable but not necessarily connction details...

Help requested with Mitsubishi FX2N PLC for PID control
"PID manual for the Mitsubishi Q series can be useful for me FX series PLC or not" I would suggest to relate the two would be totally confusing - PID functions in the Qseries far more involved: https://dl.mitsubishielectric.com/dl/fa/document/manual/plc/sh080040/sh080040s.pdf What you are...

Sinamics V20 USS comms to S71500
With my experience of Siemens, I would hazard a guess the USS protocol is causing the symptoms you describe. It wouldn't surprise me that fault diagnosis in the protocol ignores non-configured drives, but gives errors on the equivalent of power failure on the others. Early serial data...

Help requested with Mitsubishi FX2N PLC for PID control
My understanding (and memories) of the FX2N is a Mitsubishi series PLC with fixed I/o CPU with add on modules. The next point is the Transistor o/p are current restricted to 0.5Amp resistive, less (0.3A) for inductive loads, so you have to be cautious how they are used...

Missing communication with plc
A quick search of ' GF A&V300' reveals a stand alone 'behind the glass door' machine, probably part of a larger process, with it's own PLC and HMI. And Italian. So the PLC could be one of many manufacturers; with a fault ranging from loss of supply to complete PLC (CPU) failure or anywhere...

Digital input
I'm often mystified how some out there manage to wire PLC hardware - gone are the days of 2 wires for every i/p [or 3 wire when proximity switches arrived in 2 or 3 wire formats] ? So 1 wire must be really confusing ! A 3 wire PNP sensor can be wired to a 24vDC power supply; providing it is...
