Mark VIe New Software Download to Gas Turbine
winhlaingoo, I apologize for not being more prompt on responding to your initial request. I stepped away from control.com for a bit. Based on what I have ready above, I would not DL this without GE's (or an expert) help. No question. Don't even try unless they are on the phone with you...

MkVe LM HMI Windows 10 recovery / Backup
Acronis is the best one that I have used out there. However, I am much more a computer geek, so I prefer to get a whole new HMI if the hard drive fails. I don't like re-storing from a backed-up copy, because there are just too many things that can go wrong. Nonetheless, I would keep a backed...

Single Mode vs Multi Mode for Fiber Optics
Single mode fiber costs have dropped a lot in the last few years making it more appealing for a lot of people. I do agree that you can be smart about combining multi-mode and single-mode fibers to save money. However, In the automation world, I am strongly against fiber converters & adapters...

Serial connection from MarkVe HMI to DCS
Nasoor, I assume from you text above, when you say "serial cable" connection, you mean GSM. Is GSM protocol required? Can the DCS talk modbus? Talk EGD? OPC-UA? Are the alarms coming over the GSM? There are some things you can do to make the system more robust. First thing would be to add...

Modbus Communication from S7 400 to PSCA GE Module
yuck, Modbus issues are always problematic. Was the S7 315-2 DP working before? And now with the new Processor it does not? If all the data says "bad quality", how do you know any data is going across to the DCS. Can you tell me what alarms you have on the IS220PSCAH1A? You will need to...

Upload MARKVIE PROGRAM
Make sure you take a backup of your existing TCW file first. * Open up the controller from the TCW file. Note: the IP address in this file needs to be correct so it know where to pull the configuration. * Go to Device-->Upload * Follow the rest of the Upload wizard instructions.

Problem with Change of UCVF by UCVE
You've gone back a version! I would not recommend going back a version in UCVx. The UCVE cannot run as much 'code' as the UCVF.

GE On Site Monitor (OSM)
The OSM is GE's way of securely monitoring customer's GTs and and collecting data to bring it back to their M&D center. They will only provide and OSM if this attaches to their GE assets. In some cases, it is helpful for the customer, because GE can better support the customer when issues...

Mark Vie controller replacement
Azzeddine, Sorry for the late comments: I would double check your IS220UCSBH3A. Such a type of controller does not exist. It will have to be an IS420UCSBH3A. Based on your configuration (MS9001E), the IS420UCSBH4A will be fine for you setup. Note: you need to replace all of the controllers...

Alarm continuous sound in GE ToolboxST Mark VIe
I also forgot that you have to change the settings in the workstationST Alarm Viewer. Go to Option-->Settings. Change the "Sound configuration" to NOT play sound continuously.

Alarm continuous sound in GE ToolboxST Mark VIe
Its been a while since I have used this feature, but I believe if you use the Wave file Sound Type, it will only play the sound one time.

GE CIMPLICITY on Windows 10
I am sorry for the bad news. As I said before, $25K per HMI was an estimate. This depends on what other software is on there. From your comments above, it sounds like you don't have any ControlST on the HMI. That takes off a good amount. A majority of the costs is in the software licenses...

GE CIMPLICITY on Windows 10
sorry...I wanted to clarify that last statement. I meant: "it may be cheap to reach out to GE and just get the price of updating the Cimplicity 8.2 to Cimplicity 9.0 FOR THE LICENSING ONLY" the rest you would do by yourself.

GE CIMPLICITY on Windows 10
YIKES! Well, it is possible to be that high. It depends on how complex the HMI is and what kind of software you have on there. My general rule of thumb is ~$25K per HMI (not including services). However, if you are trying to keep mostly the same versions of software, it should not be too...

GE CIMPLICITY on Windows 10
Interesting question. I have always tried running later version on Windows XP or Windows 7. but never tried running 8.2 on Win10. If it installs, you should be good. I would imagine it is possible. However, I think you can upgrade to Cimplicity 9.0 or 9.5 at a very cheap price. I would...

IO packs of mark 6e (Discrete I/O)
I believe that is the T3 choke on the BPPC (used to be BPPB) communication boards for the I/O packs. Back in the olden days....~2010... there was a flaw with the choke and it would burn out and 'crash' the I/O packs. However, this was fixed in one of the BPPB revs. You can tell you have a...

MARK VIe Controllers TMR & I/O Pack
I apologies for the confusion. Let me try to explain it this way: If you wish to install the PCAAH1B I/O pack, you need v04.04 or later (otherwise you must use the PCAAH1A) If you wish to install the PSCAH1B I/O pack, you need v04.07 or later (otherwise you must use the PSCAH1A) If you wish to...
