Problem with ratcheting gear 20CS on gas turbine
Just about any time one finds a grounded solenoid coil wire there WILL BE a 125 VDC Battery Ground alarm to that effect. Was there such an alarm active, and did the alarm clear once the ground was resolved? Or is the alarm still present (meaning there are other grounds on that leg of the...

Frame 6B got tripped fire in Turbine
Mark IV, eh? Good system for its day, and still reliable to this day when properly maintained. What Diagnostic Alarms are present? Have you verified the wires (I presume there are two) between the fire & gas panel and the Mark IV? Where are the F&G wires connected in the Mark...

Aero Gas Turbine trapped in cooldown during stop command
Without being able to ”see” what's in GAP it's impossible to say what's happening. Sounds like you need to closely monitor why the unit is not staying in the mode it needs to be to complete the cooldown timer. Maybe the fuel control valve is allowing excessive fuel flow because it needs...

Gas Turbine Generator
Most sites seem to want to take the unit off cooldown as soon as possible--in an effort to conserve energy (which costs money) and reduce wear on the turbine and auxiliaries.. Most sites seem to think a unit must he on cooldown a minimum of four hours before starting--thinking that will prevent...

Gopinath, I have probably misunderstood, thinking that the unit burns natural gas AND propane.... After looking at the data, and without any information, when you mentioned 96FG I presumed that was a gas fuel supply transmitter, one for propane being used as a fuel and that there was a...

Gopinath, Thank you for the quick response and information. If I understand correctly, you said you forced the P2 pressure transmitters, which would be GE device number 96FG-2A, 96FG-2b and 96FG-2C (usually; I don't know what your device numbering system is, probably some perversion of KKS). If...

Frame 5 crank / acceleration
Unfortunately, the suggested similar threads below really don't provide much information--but, this topic has been covered MANY times before on Control.com. many, Many, MANY times--for GE-design Frame 5 & 6 heavy duty gas turbines. Even recently, there was a pretty good discussion of what...

As ControlsGuy25 writes, it would be pretty highly unusual for any need for forcing the P2 pressure input signals. AND, you didn't tell what else was going on when this happened. Were you starting the unit? Loading the unit? ??? The SRV uses the P2 pressure inputs as feedback to the control...

Frame 5 GT loading problem after MI
arunrajput1990, Okay; we're getting somewhere now. Maybe. It's very likely that the new seals and such installed in the unit allowed for a lightly higher firing temperature (the temperature of the hot gases leaving the first stage turbine nozzles)--so, that's the reason for the changes to the...

LVDT excitation
amine_nacer, I don't have any access to Mark V-to-Mark VIe Life Extension manuals, so I can't say what might be the problem. My guess is that it might have to be enabled in some configuration field in ToolboxST.?.?.? I have heard that the new Mark VIe-compatible cards used in this product (the...

Frame 5 GT loading problem after MI
aranrajput1990, 1) Was any new combustion hardware (different design/size fuel nozzles; different combustion liners; different transition pieces) installed during the MI (Major Inspection)? 2) Are the combustors/fuel nozzles conventional, diffusion-flame combustors/nozzles, or DLN-I...

Process12, This is copied from one of the responses to this thread above: ”As was said above, a "fake" cold spot (one that doesn't move with load) is an "instrumentation" issue, either a failed or failing T/C, an improperly inserted T/C, something blocking the flow through the radiation shield...

High compressor axial displacement
Walidcontrol, Please have an experienced person come to site to review the equipment and configuration and make recommendations. It's probably going to be some innocuous setting, or incorrect components. Please write back to let us know what you find and how you resolve the problem. Best of luck.

GE Mark VI not in control state
briq99, Thank you VERY MUCH for the feedback? Which VPRO did you replace? And, I believe you said you saw an orange LED on at least one of the VCMIs; can you recall which one it was (and if it was red or orange)? In any case, also, know that the VPRO is on the IONET, so that can cause...

G.E. Part Number for Instruments on frame VI gas turbine system
To add to David_2's excellent posting, it's possible that because of the age of the machines the transmitters might have been three-wire or four-wire transmitters.... early Mark IV-era turbine control panels didn't have two-wire 4-20 mA inputs; later ones did. Mark II-era turbine control systems...

G.E. Part Number for Instruments on frame VI gas turbine system
sirdee90, It's just my opinion that if you had GE part numbers and you tried to order/buy these parts from GE they would be VERY expensive--compared to trying to work with local suppliers to find what are really pretty common-place controls devices. If you don't already have a preferred...

cmullis, MS-Excel can be a wonderful tool for many things (employee evaluation/ranking IS NOT one of them). Some CAD programs can generate BOM's. One of the things about MS-Excel is there are TONS of add-ins and extensions for just about any and every purpose (except the one you want to use...
