Unbalanced 3 Phase Problem
Daniel... further to my earlier post, it is not easy to analyze arcing-current. But, if that is what you need, then it can be represented by a sparkover-gap device, having intermittent current flow for each 1/2-cycle of the sinusoidal driving voltage. If you would like additional information...

Generator rotor earth fault
Vijayakumar... your measurement indicates the fault is on the exciter side of the rotating diode disk. The value measured, 10 kOhm, is not particularly dangerous even it was located in the main field. The danger comes if a second fault occurs. However, I would suggest that you repeat the test...

GT Grid CB trips on flame off during shutdown
Gmndarake... this is the classic problem, i.e., "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" So, did the grid CB open first, or did flame-out occur first?

Oil leak from transformer secondary bushing
EC&I Engineer... I can't provide you with a proposal. However, I would like to tell you of a related experience: In my youth, I was responsible for group of electricians whose task was to return a repaired core & coil into its tank. On the last task, installation of the insulators, an...

Transformer testing
Sensorless... good start! A myriad of problems can occur during installation. Checking of Insulation Resistance (IR) using a Megger (Biddle or equal) Instrument, at the very least, will establish a baseline for future monitoring of insulation health! Regards, Phil Corso

Generator operates at very low load factor
Namatimangan08… As CSA said the information you seek could be obtained from the generator manufacturer. However, one reason it isn’t readily available is that operating with such low loads raises concern about stability. Furthermore, I don’t agree that the deviation is in the order of 1–1.5%...

Transformer unbalanced voltage
William... an accepted Rule-Of-Thumb (ROT) is that the Ampere-Unbalance-Factor (AUF) will approximate the square of the Voltage-Unbalance-Factor (VUF)! For the value you observed, the VUF is about 5.5%, thus requiring maximum de-rating of the motor, per NEMA standards! Regards, Phil Corso
