Hart Tri-Loop not working with GE Mark VIe
Okay; now you're referring to the Mark V LE, the LE for 'Life Extension. Another name for perpetuating densely packed field wiring, upside down I/O cards (on the back of card carriers), difficult-to-access cards, and ribbon cables--many without keyed connectors.

> Sorry for the confusion. It's a hybrid system: a "Mark VIe conversion". GE's pretty consistent in referring to that as a Mark Ve.

Oil mist on Frame 9E
GREAT question for GE, or Wood Group, or Thomassen, or any other similar vendor. They can provide "washing" skids, and treatment skids; all the necessary auxiliaries. This would also entail a review of the hot gas path components (liners, transition pieces, nozzles, etc.) to be sure they...

flame temp. & firing temp
A slight clarification: On machines with air-cooled nozzles, firing temperature is defined as the temperature of the hot gases exiting the first-stage turbine nozzles. (We're only talking a few degrees F difference, but it is a difference.)

Wobbie index
pawan, It's not only for GE 9FA machines. And it's only for machines that can have gas fuel from various sources (LNG, or different gas fields) or which is heated (performance heating). Have you tried searching the World Wide Web using your preferred search engine to understand Wobbe Index...

Frame 7EA IGV Removal
There are some (as in a limited number) very bright people who could probably remove the blade without removing the upper half of the compressor casing. But, you would do well to check the references of anyone claiming to be able to do this, or you might be replacing all of the blades/bushings...

charge accumulator
Kene, You should be able to get a bottle of nitrogen filled to a higher pressure from your local vendor/distributor. I've commonly seen nitrogen bottles filled to approximately 100 barg in many parts of the world. Failing that, then, yes; you will need to use some kind of compressor to...

flame temp. & firing temp
This topic has been covered many times before on control.com. Cleverly hidden at the far right of the Menu bar at the top of every control.com page is a 'Search' field. Type "+firing +temperature" (without the quotes) into the field and click on the question mark (or, just press ENTER on the...

charge accumulator
The Device Summary should list the charge pressure for the accumulator. I have also sometimes seen it shown on the Hydraulic System Piping Schematic Drawing (P&ID). The accumulator manufacturer's instructions should have been provided with the Service/Maintenance Manuals provided with the...

gas heating system
Heated gas fuel flows have a different effect on combustion dynamic pressures inside the combustors than "cold" gas fuel flows. This is all pretty much part of the proprietary nature of the DLN combustion systems that GE designs and sells. Since this is an F-class turbine, it would be very...

Hart Tri-Loop not working with GE Mark VIe
Yes; if one is using a Tri-Loop with a Mark V an external power supply is likely required. The Mark V has known issues with some transmitters; the Tri-Loop is most likely in this group of transmitters. But, this thread was started for issues with a Mark VIe. Or at...

7FA IGV Servo Varnishing
Until the oil companies changed their formulations, this was not a problem. Until servo-operated devices were located "remotely" from the L.O. tank via uninsulated lines in poorly heated compartments, this was not a problem. There are many logical reasons for using the same fluid for...

Unless you modified your turbine using the same auxiliaries and inputs/outputs as the example file you are asking for, the files would have to be modified further to match the auxiliaries and inputs/outputs being used on your system. What you're attempting to do is something that companies...

Speaking of having operators forcing logic, I was contacted just this morning to try to help understand why the IGVs wouldn't open during starting on an F-class machine with a Mark V turbine control system. Turns out the site has a weekly policy of having the operators manually stroke the...

GT trip alarms
The following alarms are not all causes for trip; in fact, only one is typically a trip--the one with the word "trip" in the text message. (i) Hydraulic Differential [Pressure] High is usually related to a high hydraulic filter differential pressure, and is not typically a turbine trip...

GT turning gear operation
Doubt is such a ... nasty word. It implies distrust, and is not a synonym for 'question.' A turbine shaft will bow under its own weight if left long enough in a stationary position. The axial compressor is composed of many discs which are all bolted together with long through-bolts (have a...
