hwVal and failDly
I've never seen this "block"; I wonder if it's a unit-specific macro. What is the application (what kind of turbine or BOP process)? I'm going to hazard a guess as to the meanings of the signal names: hwVal : Hardware (Health) Value failDly : Failure Delay I think the "health" of...

Speedtronic Error message
It's "NO QST AVAILABLE" : Queue Server Task. Try resetting the Diagnostic Alarms on the LCC/SLCC Display from the LCC/SLCC keypad. Sometimes this alarm will clear when a Diagnostic Alarm Reset is issued from the operator interface. I would venture that some blip occurred on the...

Analog Input To Thermocouple Output
I looked through some of my vendor catalogs and did a quick web search. This is kind of opposite of what most converters and isolators do. They usually take a T/C input (which is not generally very linear) and convert it to a linear output (voltage or current). It seems the originator is...

Detroit diesel engine test procedure
You know a lot more than you're giving yourself credit for, Curt! Curt makes an excellent point about seating the rings and wearing in the bearings, and about the idle times involved. These diesels are used to start the gas turbines rotating and for assistance with acceleration after flame...

Lube oil rundown tank filling line
So, what you were really asking in your original post was about adding a "drain line" with a small orifice to have a continuous flow of oil out of the rundown tank, which would mean that warmer oil would replace the oil in the tank to maintain the level, in an effort to keep the tank temperature...

Detroit diesel engine test procedure
I thought this was the case; not original equipment failures, but failures of rebuilds. That wasn't clear from the original post, and it's still not really clear, either. Are you experiencing a high failure rate of engines which were supplied with the turbines, or which have been rebuilt by...

Lube oil rundown tank filling line
Hey; it was worth a try. We all have some unrelated trivia stored in our heads which can be useful from time to time. At any rate, we're not really answering the original post. I didn't really understand the post anyway. Kolindrekar, from what I can discern from your post, you are asking...

GE- F9 turbine-generator alingment
My answers are, first, GE would be the best place to get them, but I understand that finding the right person in GE to get them from can be rather difficult.... The TILs are supposed to be sent to the owner of record; the problem with that is that they don't always filter down to the people...

Detroit diesel engine test procedure
It all depends on what you, as the purchaser of the rebuild, define as acceptable. Is it that the engines run at rated speed and produce rated torque? That they also run at the necessary speeds defined by the fuel controls used on the turbine? How does one test an engine? It produces...

Gas turbine maintenance
Are you saying you can't get any pressure from 88HR? Is this a DC motor-operated pump? What manifold are you referring to? Have you verified the position of VH-1, which I believe is the name of the manual hand valve which can be used for testing the operation of the ratchet without actually...

Mark V Files restore
No. Only compiled files are downloaded to the Mark V. None of the ASCII text configuration files are downloaded to the Mark V. You can upload what was last downloaded to the panel, but there is no reliable method of reverse compiling the files to get back to the ASCII text configuration files...

Lube oil rundown tank filling line
GE-design heavy duty gas turbines usually use the bottom of the top of the L.O. Tank (i.e., the "ceiling" of the tank) as the reference point for measuring the level in the tank, and then measure to the top of the L.O. The tank conditions (Full, Half Full, Empty, Alarm, etc.) are all relative to...

How long has this problem been happening? Since commissioning? Since a recent maintenance outage? After calibration of Gas Control Valve LVDT feedback? We can't know how the programmer of your control system configured the firing sequence since we're not able to see the sequencing in the...

This is the kind of thing that one pays a consulting engineer consulting engineering firm for, and it should be customized to the site and the application. It's very common to have a consultant or a consulting engineering firm write a specification like this to use for a bid request document...

FSR Control of Gas Turbine
Most Mark Vs have a reverse power detection function. If your CSPs use it, it can be found by working backwards from the alarm drop number. In other words, the drop number can be used to find the signal name which generated the alarm (and the breaker opening event) from the Alarm List...

You should have received a "Network Topology" diagram for your site, which details how all the UDH and PDH devices are connected together. The "network" basically uses standard Ethernet LAN technology, with specific IP addressing standards which should be detailed on the Network Topology...
