There was a MicroPro UDC1000 at one time that seems to be a different model that the current DC1000.
The current DC 1000 spec sheet states:
Communications:
RS232 or RS485 ASCII protocol
is optionally available. Up to 30
DC1000 Controllers can be
connected to a single host
computer. The host computer
can change the SP, monitor the
PV, the output or change the
configuration of the unit.
Which interpreted, means, ASCII format, you write the driver.
A search of the pdf version of the DC1000 manual for "ASCII", "485", or "232" yields no hits, so it isn't clear what sort of documentation you might get to help you write a driver. Maybe there's a separate non-public communications manual?
There is supposed to be a configuration tool, part number 46189015-501 "PC Configuration Software", used for configuration of the UDC1000/1500 Controllers, but there is
- no information on which port it uses, presumably RS-232, but who knows?
- no manual or documentation is listed
- local sales guy has never seen it.
Hi Martin.
We buy a product from Pdutech called DC10XXControl. We have a lot of client that use this software to control, programming and monitorig Honeywell DC1000 controllers.

Hi
DC1000 looks very similar though not same to their old series UDC 1000/3000/6000. We have implemented interface S/w for interfacing Honeywell PLC to UDC series of loop controller. Writing driver in ladder logic is 10 times more difficult than in any other computing language.
If you need any help, please let me know.
