Connecting of 2 different small grids at Offshore Oil and Gas Platforms

Hi,

At my platform we have total 8 no of Gas Turbine Generators for 2 grids like 4 GTGs on each Grid.
In Grid-1:
There are 4 no of GTGs of Siemens make TB5000 GTs and GE Alternators of 2.8 MW. Present load varies from 2.4MW to 3MW. So we are running 2 GTGS to meet the load demand.
Control system: Turbine control: Siemens with droop speed control. Generator control: Actimium make and DECS-200 AVR.

In Grid-2:
There are 3 no of Solar make Centaur-40 Gas Turbines with Converteam make Alternators rated 2.8 MW and one more Solar Make Taurus-60 Gas Turbine with HHI make alternator rated 4.8MW. Present load varies from 5MW to 5.5 MW. So we are running one T-60 and one C-40 to meet the load demand.
Control System: For both turbine and generator control: Solar make control system with CGCM modules. Load share via CGCM and Voltage sharing: CCC method.

There are 2 Power management systems. For Grid-1: Actimium make, For Grid-2: Solar Make.
working principles of both are different. There is a connecting cable between Grid-1 and Grid-2 for blackout revival at Grid-2. after power revival

Now we want to combine both grids and make a single grid for better load sharing and better reliability. And I have many doubts in my head.
Is it possible to combine both grids?
What will be the hiccups and bottle necks?
I need all your inputs.

Thanks in advance.
