Hi all

What is the difference between process station and ac 800F controller, Field controller in ABB Freelance 2000?

how they can be differentiated in working?

Thanks in advance.

The rack-cpu is the oldest type of cpu, no profibus connection is possible. Field Controller was the next step with the same functions and optionally profibus inside. Both are classic components, no more awailable for new projects.

AC800F is the actual cpu.

They are compatible. You can use AC800F for prfibus and controller redundancy. There is a version with 16 MB RAM instead of 4 MB.

regards
Andreas

Hello,
Process Station is the system (computer) where the Engineering and Configuration part is performed using the Frame application (CBF - Control Builder F)

AC800F is the entire control housing (i.e Controller + Ethernet Card + Fieldbus cards)

Field Controller is the CPU PM802F / PM803F.

regards,
David.
