Bently Nevada Card dropping out causing the 4 radial vibration probes on turbine to go into “Not OK”

Hi any help on this would be awesome!

Bently Nevada Card 3 is dropping out causing the 4 radial probes on the gas turbine generator to go into “Not OK” state which the PLC then see’s and issues first out 108117 – “Not safe to run to turbine with no vibration protection”
“Not Ok” clears within 30S (BN Timed OK Defeat) and unit can be put into a spin and restarted

what we have done so far:
  • Trip 1 – No change, reset restart
  • Trip 2 – Reseat Slot 3 card
  • Trip 3 – Replace Slot 3 blue card
  • Trip 4 – Replace Slot 3 IO card below
  • Trip 5 – Replace full backplane and a number of IS barriers
  • Trip 6 – Replacing a common cable from the BN rack to the isolators, replaced pepper fuchs power supply on the rail powering the isolators. Checked inside JB 6 and the junction boxes at the GG and looked fine.

Nuisance trips are still persisting :'(

I suggest that might be due to resonance. Lots of causes result in such phenomenon. It depends how many hours your machine is running and if CM department have notices any abnormalities before this incident. Natural frequency of a component in machine has coincided with these four probes. You have not mentioned these four probes are measuring vibration on which side of machine. That would help. After that you have to investigate which part on that area might fluctuated so that caused the vibration amplitude intensified and elevated. If you already fixed the problem please send me what was the problem to my Email i.e [email protected]
