We have a simple PB (Profibus) bus network that goes from CU to FB via OLMS and then back to CU via another OLM to connect some Siemens 200 IO.
What we are looking at is changing this to a PB ring network, but one leg of the ring uses a DataEagle PB link. This is so if the link through the slipping fails, the backup path of wireless is automatically adopted.
My sketch of the network is as below, and I'm trying to establish if this is valid and will work. For reference, OLM (1) and (3) are the original bus network.
