There is a Problem in network between CPU 313 and OP 17 DP. The Problem is OP 17 DP is Rebooting continuously. The CPU is in Run Mode. But Operator can't continue work as the HMI is rebooting Continuously.
I have done some troubleshooting work but not succeed to solve the problem and these are:

1) Changing the power Supply of HMI.

2) Changing the profibus cable.

3) Changing the DIP switch orientation.(now it is in 1=ON, 2, 3, 4=OFF)

I can't go online to the HMI. Please help me to solve the Problem. Also i don,t know how to download the OP 17 DP problem using protocol (also which cable should be used to download the HMI program). I have WinCCflex, WinCC and protocol in my computer.

Thanks

Hello

I've opened several OP7, the hardware inside is the same, or little different.

First you must check that the OP reboot continuously also on your workbench powered with a right power supply and connected with no other thing, for my experience it will reboot again, than if you're able to use the solder start with opening the panel, detach flat keyboard cable and start to change EVERY electrolytic capacitor in the circuit: by the age of this panel some are pretty dry, by age or by heating too, thus they did not store energy that's need by the next stage of circuit, than the output voltage fall under watchdog level and the watchdog itself reboot as safe solution.

Don't try to measure the value by a capacimeter: it will tell you a false answer: at least you can evaluate the capacitor bad from good with and ESR meter, but with a few euros or dollars you can change the entire capacitor-family inside OP17,then you renew the entire OP17.

BTW: dry capacitor and rebooting or mis-function of device with switching power supply is a common problem: I've change in some times some dozens of capacitor in device that some ''technician'' have marked as ''died'' ... remmeber :)

Kind regards,

Hello

I have faced exactly the same problem yesterday.

What did you do for this?
Did you change the OP17 or repair it?

thanks
