Dear A-List Members,
I have a customer requesting a DCS replacement. They want to use only Profibus DP fieldbus to route remote I/O Blocks for all analog and digital instruments and motors.

I have check many brands, but not found any which combines both yet.

Is it possible to route Probibus PA onto Profibus DP? In this case it looks that the remote I/O Block should take care of this and link it with an only bus to DCS.

Profibus PA attaches to a host system using Profibus DP, with communication between the buses being established through a gateway or linking device.

SIEMENS- PCS7
MTL-8000 series is Remote I/O which can be
mounted in field with PROFIBUS DP connectivity.

This can be connected to any of DCS system. We
have implemented with this type of combination
for Emerson Delta V system.
We have also implemented with AC800M DCS system
with this concept.
Other option you have for analogue input on
Foundation fieldbus & DI/DO on profibus DP.

Profibus PA media is converted to Profibus DP media using a "coupler" or "link" from Siemens or P+F
