Emerson/Fisher Fieldvue DLC 3100 Level controllers

Was wondering if anyone has anything Good/bad to say about Emerson/Fisher Fieldvue DLC 3100 level controllers. I was asked to take on a project replacing all our pneumatic level controllers and I'm narrowing down my choices. Thanks

Strictly anecdotal. From conversations with guys at the local ISA meetings over the years, 3 out of 4 plants along Rt 30 were using Magnetrol displacement or GWR in 2019 prior to Covid. I retired in 2020 and haven't been to an ISA meeting since.

DLC 3100 uses displacer type level sensor. Nothing bad about this since this has already worked in your application. But now a days a better approach is to use Diaphragm seal DP level transmitter or GWR level transmitter. Some plants also uses magnetostrictive level transmitters. Easiest instrument is diaphragm seal DP level transmitter from setup and calibration point of view. For GWR you need to do the proper setup and configuration to get a trouble free operation. All are very reliable instruments.
